MLS Cup at Home Depot Center between the Galaxy and Houston Dynamo is just eight days away.

*A good read this morning in the Houston Chronicle explores the rivalry and relationship between the two veteran coaches who will meet in MLS Cup.

*How happy do you think the Galaxy's Robbie Keane is about Ireland's dominating Euro 2012 playoff win? He's pretty chuffed.

*In local women's college soccer this weekend, Long Beach State marked its first-ever NCAA Tournament win over Pepperdine and UCLA beat New Mexico.

*In local men's college soccer, undefeated PAC-12 champion UCLA (15-4-1) beat New Mexico San Diego State (thanks to those who caught the typo) 2-0 Saturday and awaits Monday's NCAA Tournament draw.

Correction to last post: UCLA/New Mexico was women, not men, and it was the first game of the NCAA tourney so UCLA advances to the second round.

He has the UCLA women's result correctly but the men's team defeated San Diego State 2-0. UNM is still undefeated having just won their own conference championship and will be ranked number one going in to the post season tournament. The pairings will be announced today by NCAA.
