backtoback.jpgBack to Southern California: David Beckham and the Galaxy and Thierry Henry and the New York Red Bulls play the second leg of their Western Conference Semifinal Thursday in Carson (AP Photo).

f333.jpgLandon Donovan has never been afraid to criticize anyone, even David Beckham (who incidentally is listed as questionable for Thursday's game in Carson with back spasms).

Now the Galaxy playmaker has slammed Thierry Henry and the Red Bulls ahead of Thursday's winner takes all playoff decider; in response New York striker Luke Rodgers launched an expletive-laden atttack on Donovan, too.

The war of words is racheting up the anticipation for the clash. At stake for the victor is a one-off game for the Western Conference championship against the winner of the Real Salt Lake-Seattle Sounders series.

Read more on Thursday's game and the rest of the MLS playoffs in today's column.

Also, DirecTV suscribers will be able to see these games on Fox-affiliated channels after all.

Henry is a sneaky and dirty player who does not have the guts to fight like a man. He only stabs you in the back when the ref is not looking. He kicked at Beckham's back while on the ground and poked somebody in the face earlier - may have been Dunivent.

PD - Donovan whines a lot.
