Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena wasn’t specifically talking about the club’s intra-stadium rivals when he told reporters Sunday morning that anyone who thinks preseason results matter or has any bearing on the regular season is “misguided.”

But after Chivas USA’s dispiriting rout at the hands of the San Jose Earthquakes later in the day, which Goats Coach Robin Fraser could only call “embarrassing,” I’m pretty sure the former Galaxy defender isn’t feeling the same way.
