The latest center back candidate to get a look in the position that remains the club’s biggest question mark is UCSB product Andy Iro, right, a native Liverpudlian who played for Columbus and Toronto, who was on the Home Depot Center practice field today as the club resumed training after the international break.
Iro was cut loose by the Canadian club in preseason when he failed to agree contract terms.
Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said the club was merely “taking a look at him, whatever you want to call it,” but whatever you want to call it the club needs help at the position so I’ll call it a trial.

More details on Iro and the return of Saunders are here.
