Real Thing: Inglewood’s Jose Villarreal, center, scored the tying goal Wednesday in only his second MLS game in the dying moments of the Galaxy’s 2-2 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps giving Landon Donovan, left, Sean Franklin and Marcelo Sarvas reason to celebrate (AP Photo).

Teenage Inglewood resident Jose Villarreal’s second MLS game provided just the moment the Galaxy needed to save a road point Wednesday against the Vancouver Whitecaps
in a big game.

He was pretty happy:

David Beckham owes him lunch.

In his ten minutes on the field, Villareal has scored half as many goals as Chad Barrett has all season.

Still, scoring threats are still not the problem for the G’s. It’s that central defense and the slowness of the back line. The Whitecaps speed was impressive and scary throughout the first half. Put a fast team against them, and any Galaxy game will be decided by who gets to five goals first.

Nick, any news about Tottenham Hotspur?
