Glad we didn’t win, didn’t deserve to go deep in the playoffs with the current line-up and inconsistent play all year.

Out with Mastroeni, Spaghetti Cudoccini, Clark, Rodgers, Rugg, Gaul, Walker, Perk, Leonardo, Frenchy Courtois and Hoffman.

Sell Omar and get a good midfielder and a big body center forward. Have Bruce take a coaching refresher course, make Donovan go in therapy, send Zardes to Argentina for fine tuning, force Keane to retire from int’l play, make Dunivant hit one million crosses and make Juninho and Sarvas take advanced Samba lessons.

  • Inigo Montoya

Just back from SLC, froze my butt at the game. RSL got a deserved win. The first RSL goal in the run of play was a thing of beauty.

Schuler very very fortunate to sneak his leg around Opare to get a toe on the ball for the second RSL
goal, but that’s how teams win playoff games. Franklin and Donovan
failed to score with a better opportunity later on almost the exact
    same play.

My only complaint was the non-penalty call on the take-down of Franklin from behind in the first half, but I saw the ridiculously disallowed RSL goal as a make-up call for that. The RSL fans around me were right to be pissed-off about that call.

Penedo was good, Romando was better, especially on the long dipsy-doodle shot he saved with his face. MVP of the game for me.

More corner kick futility for the G’s, never creating danger with Omar the only real target. Too easy to defend.

Same old, same old: not enough G’s can put the ball on frame. We miss you Mike Magee!! Far more than David Beckham this year.

As I see it, biggest need for next year is a scoring midfielder. Hard to see who that could be in the current roster. With Opare in the middle and DLG back at the outside, maybe Franklin can move up and do that. Maybe an in-form Robbie Rogers. Among the youngsters, Jimenez seems to me the best candidate to turn the corner. Zardes? Rugg? Stephens? Villareal? I don’t think so.

Last note: that RSL anthem you hear sung on TV is piped in, loud loud loud on the stadium sound system. Half-hearted singing by the crowd stops as soon as the piped in song stops, which is pitiful. Give me a Galaxy home game any day!
