*Robbie Rogers’ stumbling soccer career was revitalized when Galaxy coach Bruce Arena switched the midfielder to a left back role and now Rogers has received a multiyear contract extension as a just reward for sterling play this season.
From the Galaxy press release:
Rogers, 27, has made 15 appearances for the Galaxy this season in addition to recording two assists. After making the move to defense full-time with a start against Chivas USA on June 8, the Galaxy have gone 10-2-7 in all MLS competitions in which Rogers appeared, including the MLS Cup Playoffs.
*Meanwhile, despite his hamstring issue Robbie Keane seems likely to play for his beloved Ireland against Scotland Friday in a Euro 2016 qualifier (live at 11;30 a.m. on ESPN3).
*Former Galaxy defender Ezra Hendrickson was today named coach of the Seattle Sounders’ USL Pro affiliate, by former Galaxy and current Seattle coach Sigi Schmid.

From the Sounders press release:
Hendrickson was announced as a Sounders FC Assistant Coach on January 20, 2009, after a 14-year professional career, including 12 seasons in Major League Soccer. As a player, he spent parts of eight seasons alongside Sounders FC Head Coach Sigi Schmid, including three campaigns with the Columbus Crew prior to his retirement. He was a member of three MLS Cup championship teams, winning two with Schmid.
Apparently, Seattle doesn’t want to use the G-word in print ahead of their Western Conference final against the Galaxy.
