A suitably gritty if not particularly pretty performance Sunday saw a weakened Galaxy rebound at home with a 1-0 win over Western Conference rivals the Seattle Sounders and extend their unbeaten streak at StubHub Center to 24 games, MLS beat writer Phil Collin reported.

Quotable:

“We had our chances, unfortunately we didn’t finish them,” said Seattle striker Lmar Neagle. “I personally had three that I thought I could have done a lot better with so it is a frustrating game knowing that we played pretty well and were in control of the game in the beginning and then one free kick changes things. It was frustrating, it seemed like we were getting the bulk of the chances and not being able to finish, some of them were a little bit ridiculous, on our part, and on (Penedo’s) part, (he) had a great game.”

Notable:

With 10 saves against Seattle, goalkeeper Jaime Penedo was one save shy of tying the LA Galaxy franchise record of 11 in a single match.
