The lottery for tickets to the Oct. 10 CONCACAF Cup match between the United States and Mexico at the Rose Bowl opens Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 3 a.m. PT, CONCACAF announced Tuesday. The lottery will close on Friday, Sept. 18 at 8:59 p.m. PT, with winners being announced from Sept. 16 to Sept. 18.
The winner of the CONCACAF Cup match earns a spot in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
According to CONCACAF, 30,000 tickets have already been sold through independent pre-sales organized by the participating federations. According to Sports Illustrated, the U.S. and Mexican soccer federations are each allocated 30 percent of the 83,000 tickets available for the game. Another 30 percent go to the lottery, and the final 10 percent go toward local teams and sponsors.
Apply for the lottery online at CONCACAF.com. Winners are able to purchase up to six tickets per application.
After lottery winners are announced, a limited amount of tickets will be available to the general public on Sept. 29.
