LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos was named to the Mexican national team roster on Thursday for Oct. 10’s CONCACAF Cup match between Mexico and the United States.

Mexico’s interim manager Ricardo Ferretti did not call Dos Santos up for international friendlies in September. The 26-year-old helped Mexico to a Gold Cup victory earlier in the summer.

“For me, it’s always a dream come true going to the national team,” dos Santos said last week before the Galaxy’s 3-2 win over FC Dallas of being named to the provisional roster.
