The Galaxy officially announced the re-signing of forward Alan Gordon on Monday, confirming an Instagram post the 34-year-old posted over the weekend. Gordon was part of MLS’ first-ever free-agency class, but was considered a favorite to re-sign with LA during the offseason.

In 29 appearances and seven starts, Gordon scored five MLS goals last year, three of which came in game-winning fashion. He also scored four goals in CONCACAF Champions League play.

He started his MLS career with the Galaxy in 2004, but bounced to Chivas USA, Toronto FC and San Jose before rejoining the Galaxy midway through the 2014 season. He earned a call-up to the U.S. men’s national team in 2015 for the Gold Cup, appearing in a semifinal match against Jamaica. He’s on the roster for the national team’s 2018 World Cup qualifying matches.

The Galaxy have 24 of their 28 roster spots filled after Gordon’s signing.
