The week ahead for the Galaxy: Orlando City SC

The Galaxy will look to build off of last Friday’s 2-0 victory over Montreal when they visit Orlando City SC, Saturday (Noon; Fox/11).

Orlando City SC defeated the New York Red Bulls 1-0, Sunday. Servando Carrasco scored the lone goal.

Orlando City has scored just four goals this season, but they’ve certainly made them count. They’re 3-1 and in second place in the East. All three victories have come at home.

Sebastian Lletget feeling good despite injury setback and upcoming surgery

Sebastian Lletget rode the emotional roller coaster during the World Cup qualifier against Honduras in San Jose.

One moment he was celebrating the opening goal that he scored that he scored in the fifth minute and less than 15 minutes later he was being subbed off following a left foot injury.

The injury turned out to be a Lisfranc injury, forcing Lletget to the sidelines for 4-6 months. Surgery was set for Wednesday.

“I know it is bad luck, but it is part of the game,” Lletget said Tuesday. “It took me a couple of days to really process everything, but I feel better now and I’m looking forward to just getting to that rehab stage.

“It is going to be a learning process for me.”

Lletget a San Francisco native, scored the goal in front of family and friends in attendance at Avaya Stadium.

“The first couple of days it was just so hard,” he said. “It was like did that even happened? It was a lot go through, but with anything in this sport, you go around and ask a lot of guys, especially the older ones, they’ve had a lot of setbacks in their careers and they’ve comeback stronger. I’m going to take their advice.”

Galaxy defender Hugo Arellano called into U.S. U-20 camp

Galaxy defender Hugo Arellano was on the 25-man U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team roster that coach Tab Ramos has assembled in London. The camp is the first international training camp of the year as the U.S. begins preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Korea next month.

The U.S. is grouped with Ecuador, Senegal and Saudi Arabia.

Cal goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann (Newport Beach) is also on the roster.

LAFC unveils the official Banc of California Stadium logo

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and Banc of California today unveiled the official logo for Banc of California Stadium, the club’s new 22,000-seat world-class soccer stadium that will bring more than $350 million in private investment to south Los Angeles and redefine the Los Angeles landscape.

The logo embraces the stadium’s distinct architecture at the Northeast entrance viewable from Figueroa Street.

The new state-of-the-art development, which will serve as a sport, entertainment, civic, and cultural landmark, will also include a district that will be active on non-game days, 365-days of the year and will feature a large public plaza, restaurants, retail and a conference and events center.

Banc of California Stadium, schedule to open in 2018, will create approximately 1,800 permanent full-time jobs, bring over $130 million in annual economic output, improve the tax base for the city.

Galaxy weekend preview: Galaxy receive good news for a change on injury front

The Galaxy is in Vancouver tonight for a meeting with the Whitecaps. Tonight, could be the first time this season and first time since last August that the club could have Giovani Dos Santos and Gyasi Zardes on the field together.

Curt Onalfo said both are available. Dos Santos said he’s 100 percent. Zardes said he’s healthy and ready to go.

The Galaxy is on turf tonight and that could ultimately be the deciding factor if Onalfo uses both players.

Tune in at 7 on Spectrum SportsNet and see who will be in the starting 11.
