harmancnn.jpgRep. Jane Harman will make a pair of appearances tomorrow in northern Virginia on behalf of Barack Obama. This is the first time that Harman, D-El Segundo, who backed Hillary Clinton in the primaries, has gone out on the campaign trail for the Democratic presidential nominee.
The first appearance will be at noon in a library inside a mall in Charlottesville, where she'll be appearing with Denis McDonough, one of Obama's foreign policy advisers.
The second will be at 3 p.m. at a community college in Fredericksburg. There she'll be joined by Richard Clarke, former counter-terrorism czar and longtime Bush administration critic, to discuss "rooting out al Qaeda, attacking global poverty and increasing the number of military personnel."
Harman has appeared on TV for Obama before, but has not previously hit the trail for him.
Virginia is, of course, a swing state. The latest pollster.com average has McCain up there 47.9 to 45.9.
