Rep. Laura Richardson, D-Harbor Gateway, voted yes on the bailout bill yesterday. Her statement:

After attending over 8 House Caucus meetings, participating in a conference call with Secretary Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke, listening to renown (sic) economists and reviewing legislative proposals over the last several days, EESA was the best bipartisan effort to contain strict oversight (sic), limit executive compensation, initiate provisions for mortgage stabilization, and ensure protections that taxpayers deserve.
I understand my colleagues (sic) concerns and reluctance as reflected in the vote today; however, I urge all of us to return to the bargaining table, provide fiscally sound legislation, establish reform policies to prevent reoccurrences (sic), protect the taxpayers and implement programs to eliminate this crisis equally in neighborhoods on Main Street and in financial institutions on Wall Street.
