Here's a look at what's going on out there Sept. 4:

It's just one sex offender per home in Carson now. After recently discovering more than a dozen bunking in the same hotel and almost as many in a duplex, the City Council has banned the clustering of registered sex offenders in town.

In the waning days of summer, Manhattan Beach considers ways to get the elderly, disabled and kids down to the shore safely and conveniently.

San Pedro residents and stakeholders are expected to make a ruckus tonight when the Los Angeles Unified School District unveils plans for a new high school near Angel's Gate Park. The proposal calls for a campus on a 29-acre former Army site that would house 810 students.

Carson High's football team lost Wednesday in triple overtime against Mater Dei. A gallery of photos from the game show the sweet taste of victory and the agony of defeat.

We can't get shampoo through airport security, but apparently a Los Angeles International Airport elevator mechanic can allegedly smuggle illegal immigrants into the country by hustling them out of the terminal before federal authorities caught on.
