Here's a look at what's going on out there today:

A man and 17-year-old boy will spend 50 years-to-life in prison for killing two Carson mini-mart employees in 2006, a judge has decided.

It's back to the drawing board for folks looking to relieve air traffic in Los Angeles International Airport: United Airlines plans to stop flying out of LAX's Palmdale sister airport in December.

Today is National POW/MIA Recognition Day, and the folks at the Los Angeles Air Force Base have spent the last 24 hours commemorating the occasion with a day-long torch relay  around the running track at its El Segundo facility. Check out a photo gallery of the action -- and for proof that there really is an Air Force base in El Segundo.
