I just voted at North High in Torrance and things were a little confusing because there are two precincts voting in one location, so there are two separate lines for entry. And there is no parking. The wait was about 10 minutes to get in to vote.
On the whole though, there was a general air of excitement in the room. There were two first-timers in there learning how to mark their ballots. The guy behind me said he hadn't voted since the 1970s. And the woman who voted in the booth before me forgot her purse.

Voting was great for me - I vote by mail so I sent it in weeks ago! I did get nervous that it wasn't received until I checked www.LAVote.net. I like voting by mail so I can sit at home and review all the props carefully.
I voted at the El Segundo Masonic Temple, where about a dozen stations were filled when I got there about 9:30 a.m. A station with a chair for the elderly opened, but I chose to wait for a standing booth. I wanted to stand for this election.
I cast my ballot and left with tears in my eyes. I've never been this excited about a vote.
I voted at Magruder MS. I find it somewhat disheartening that with an election so critical, and voting such a privilege, that some people had not taken the time to review the sample ballot; evident by the fact that they had to ask for one and then would stand for many, many minutes reading it. There were many things to vote on, and none should be taken so lightly as not to do your homework on the issues.
I also strongly believe that everyone should have to show your voter registration card and a picture ID in order to vote. The poll workers would accept sample ballots which were printed with names as identification; or just the voter cards only. They stated picture ID wasn't necessary. I handed my voter card with my driver's license and the poll worker didn't even look at my ID, just said 'we don't need that'.
How do you know someone is who they say there are if you don't check picture ID and compare it to the voter card? You can't cash a check, or get on a plane without a picture ID, but voting without is okay?!? With all the problems with voter registration fraud, a crime by the way, think ACORN; common sense would dictate the necessity of checking picture ID and comparing it to the Voter card.
I voted at Eucalyptos Elementary School in Hawthorne. We were separated into two precints, green and orange. The green precinct had no line and my orange precint had 50 people in front of me. Next time I will vote absentee.
I had never done a write-in before so was asking if I had to write the one name or names for both president and vice-president. The poll works said no, just write in President and the name, like even Ron Paul if you want. Then both of the poll workers laughed, like only an idiot would do that.
Well, this idiot did just that.
