Report city salaries online?

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger told a group of business leaders that cities should post city officials' salaries online to avoid the scandal that has exploded in Bell, the Los Angeles Times reported today.

What do you think?

The Times elsewhere reports that city managers are convening in Sacramento today to discuss damage control. Up for discussion is a database of salaries (I'm not sure if this would be public or not). The Legislature is also considering action.

We here at the Daily Breeze are taking at closer look at compensation in all of our South Bay cities in the wake of the LAT stories about massive salaries for top administrators and City Council members in Bell.
