No doubt, you've seen them around, casually coasting near the shoreline when the ocean is flat or maybe even vying for waves at your favorite break when it's overhead.

 

Well, get used to it.

 

With sales approaching $10 billion in 2008, the stand-up paddle surfing industry is booming. The Wall Street Journal recently took a look at this summer's fitness craze. (Haven't they been around longer than that?) Apparently, the recreational activity is becoming popular in places far from the ocean's edge.
