Tony, I don't think you accurately captured what happened last week at Narbonne - it was a great game going into triple overtime. What happened afterwards is what was so sickening - Narbonne players showed how classless they are and their coaching staff - even though they won that game, they are the true losers - foul mouthed and gesturing to the San Pedro fans, who outnumbered their own fans probably 2 to 1, and THEY were the home team. Narbonne's announcer was annoying in that he practically swallowed the microphone when he spoke - his trying to be funny and TV like only made his announcing worse. The Officials - I hope no other team period gets that horrible crew - they must have delayed the game a good 30 min. total because they couldn't seem to make a decision. Can't wait to see Pedro meet the Narbonne losers again - this time the result should be far different...Every other school in the Marine League has more class than Narbonne will ever have.

Ciniglio graduated from Malibu High (home of the mighty Sharks) in 1997 as part of the school's second graduating class before attending powerhouse Pepperdine (Class of 2001), thus shattering any reader's preconceived notion that he has any personal bias when it comes to South Bay Preps.

Dave Thorpe

Dave Thorpe was a self-proclaimed, slightly above average baseball player back in the day at Torrance's West High, who went on and had an unspectacular, injury-riddled stint as a third baseman at El Camino College. Trading bat for pen, Thorpe wrote sports for the Long Beach Union newspaper at Long Beach State University, then worked as the sports editor for the Palos Verdes Peninsula News for seven years before climbing down the Hill to the Daily Breeze, where he has been a sports writer covering local sports since 2007.
