Not surprisingly, former Mira Costa girls soccer standout Lindsay Bullock has continued to make an impact at the collegiate level.

Bullock, a former Daily Breeze Player of the Year, was named the Big West Conference's Midfielder of the Year after a stellar season at Long Beach State.

Bullock tied for second in the conference with 10 goals and fourth in points with 21.

Bullock helped lead Mira Costa  to three straight Bay League titles.

Tony,
You may be interested in writing a follow-up article on my daughter, Lacey Kammerer. Torrance High grad 1997. You can research the Daily Breeze articles on her. She was on the 1996 and 1997 Daily Breeze All-Area Softball Team. She was a Bay League MVP, 2nd Team All CIF. She attended Georiga Southern University on a softball scholarship. She is a professional softball picthing instructor for The Pitchers Mound in Gwinnett,Georgia (near Atlanta). Her level of instruction is putting her pitchers into Div. I university programs. You can see more on her bio at ThePitcherMound.net. Her married name is Lacey Ingram. She has two students currently that have five or more major Div. I softball powerhouse schools looking at them. She does more than just teach. She has helped to develope a program of softball exposure camps for college recruiters around the country and help start the Addidas Top 100 Camp in St. George, Utah. She has worked closely with Ernie Parker (USA Olympic Pitching Coach) and with Lisa Fernandez of the USA Olympic softball team. She has developed strong credibility within the college coaching ranks. She is giving back to a sport that gave her so much. I think a lot of people in the South Bay would be interested in reading about her accomplishments since her high school days.

Thank You,

Bob Kammerer

Tony Ciniglio

Tony Ciniglio has been covering sports at the Daily Breeze since 1997 and is the Prep-JC Editor. Ciniglio graduated from Malibu High (home of the mighty Sharks) in 1997 as part of the school's second graduating class before attending powerhouse Pepperdine (Class of 2001), thus shattering any reader's preconceived notion that he has any personal bias when it comes to South Bay Preps.

Dave Thorpe

Dave Thorpe was a self-proclaimed, slightly above average baseball player back in the day at Torrance's West High, who went on and had an unspectacular, injury-riddled stint as a third baseman at El Camino College. Trading bat for pen, Thorpe wrote sports for the Long Beach Union newspaper at Long Beach State University, then worked as the sports editor for the Palos Verdes Peninsula News for seven years before climbing down the Hill to the Daily Breeze, where he has been a sports writer covering local sports since 2007.
