The high school football season is upon us. There will be game previews and some features tied to the area's "Week Zero" games this week, but the Daily Breeze's league-by-league season previews are scheduled to run Monday-Thursday next week. Here's the schedule:

Monday: Private/small schools (Bishop Montgomery, Serra, St. Bernard, Mary Star, Chadwick, Rolling Hills Prep, Pacific Lutheran, Animo)

Tuesday: Pioneer League (Torrance, North Torrance, South Torrance, El Segundo, Lawndale, Centennial)

Wednesday: Bay League (Palos Verdes, Peninsula, Leuzinger, Mira Costa, Redondo and West Torrance) and Ocean League (Hawthorne, Inglewood, Morningside, Culver City, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica)

Thursday: L.A. City Section (Marine League teams San Pedro, Narbonne, Carson, Banning, Gardena, Washington and Western League team Westchester)

...have you ever tried to gain information from your "prep schedule"...it doesn't work...at least from my computer...

...christ...I just want to find out today's game schedule/locations for the Peninsula and PV High Schools...is that too much to ask?...

Your reviews have been horrible so far in high school football.

You might want to check the schedules for games of the TUSD high schools. You listed in your article that all four TUSD schools were playing on Sept. 18th but that is incorrect. All TUSD high school games are on the 17th, Thursday only.

Tony Ciniglio

Tony Ciniglio is an 11-year veteran at the Daily Breeze and is the Prep-JC Editor. Ciniglio graduated from Malibu High (home of the mighty Sharks) in 1997 as part of the school's second graduating class before attending powerhouse Pepperdine (Class of 2001), thus shattering any reader's preconceived notion that he has any personal bias when it comes to South Bay Preps.

Dave Thorpe

Dave Thorpe was a self-proclaimed, slightly above average baseball player back in the day at Torrance's West High, who went on and had an unspectacular, injury-riddled stint as a third baseman at El Camino College. Trading bat for pen, Thorpe wrote sports for the Long Beach Union newspaper at Long Beach State University, then worked as the sports editor for the Palos Verdes Peninsula News for seven years before climbing down the Hill to the Daily Breeze, where he has been a sports writer covering local sports for more than two years.
