Just when you could not figure out what West is going to do for the rest of the year, they hold North to 0 TD's and play a solid game, all while resting #44 Dan Henggler! As the game started, West came out hot, scored their first TD within 3 min. A great drive started off with a great reception by #21 Steve Wood, followed by a #8 Slowey TD. All I kept thinking was, we got to stay ahead, of what I thought would be a shootout tonight. But our defense held tough! Even when the Saxons got it to within our 3 yd line, 1st and goal, they ended up on their asses back at the 30, which ended the half.

The second half was pretty flat. Both teams driving on eachother with both teams only able to tag 3's. I got to hand it to our Warrior Boys tonight! Again, they were expected to come up short, and for the second time this year, they prove out on top! Not quite what "Mr Everything" expected. Although he had a solid game, but got his bell rung a few times.

Looking at North's schedule, I would guess that they win most if not all of their games. But watch out for South!

Anyway...good luck North! Thanks for the physical game. And tell your coaches to chill out! They were Trippin after the game!

Damn, the fat guy is working wonders at PV. 4-1 with wins over Pedro & Inglewood.

What "Fat Guy" are you talking about?

Someone might want to change the picture caption on the Inglewood Palos Verdes game... PV beat Inglewood... not the other way around.

Congratulations Cavaliers on your win against Taft. It was a really exciting game.

Leuzinger 61, Hawthorne 7...OUCH!! Someone please pull the life-support from Hawthorne's football program.

Good week in football this week. Now the season begins and its time to forget about the preseason.

Leuzinger has a pretty good team this year varsity has beaten Banning, Santa Monica, Westchester, Hawthorne and loss to Hamilton first gm of season vs. Hamilton in ot by one. The JV has been pretty good to they have averaged 55 points and have only been scored on once this yr..I did see something that made me upset tho..Coach Tolliver loves to run the score up on people and he never plays the guys on the bench JV and Varsity.. I think this is wrong especially when your up by so many Let the Damn Kids play COACH>>>GEESH

To paraphrase Westy, Looking at West's schedule, I would guess that they will lose most if not all of their games.

It's time for West to go 0-5, you saw it hear first.

I am ashamed of my alma mater. We were the power house of the south bay in the 90's. These coaches suck just as much as their kids. Do we have some kind of a curse? When will it end? Coach James Swain I'm sorry Homie but u suck for taking this job a second time.

It's time for league play now baby!!! It's time for league play ...

Let's go Costa, ride that Mustang through the BAY LEAGUE!

To all the victors this past Friday good job! Now strap back up and get ready for next week!

To the down trodden, hold your heads up!

As long as the sun goes down and comes back up during the fall, we're gonna have "Friday Night Lights"!!

TRINITY LEAGUE: Orange Lutheran, Servite, Santa Margarita, JSerra (S.Juan Capistrano), St. John Bosco. SERRA LEAGUE: Alemany, St. Paul, Notre Dame, Bishop Amat, Loyola. To GARDENA SERRA, when your bold enough to play with the big-boys, then you can talk all you want until then, your lofty ranking is a SIN! Now, go to the confession booth and do 50 "Our Fathers" and 100 "Hail Marys". LOL

Serra Say What? Great post! You nailed that one. Serra needs to reach down between their legs and squeeze and tell us if they got any. Get up there where all the rest of those teams also recruit and watch yourselves end up in the basement where your gutter program belongs and you will see that there are better recruits out there than what you have on your team in comparison to the other schools who also recruit such as what Serra has been doing since they have had this coach.

haha i thot it was a great game

While you're proposing that Serra play the 'big boys' remember this: Serra has 600 students (300 boys/300 girls)...all of the schools you mention (envy of Catholic schools?)...have 2-3x the number of students. Also, B Amat cancelled a game wtih Serra two years ago.

Now, here's a great match up: Hawthorne vs. Bmonty (of Torrence)...what a horrible game that would be.

Final score: 0-0...both teams would get lost on the way to game...and leave their uniforms back at school!

No one cares how many people attend Serra High School and whether its 600 or not. Just about 300 of them are recruited so what the hell is the difference anyway? So they have 300 in the football program from 9 to 12 grade when most schools would dream of 100 players in their program from 9 to 12 grade. So what is your point El Matador?

Six Pack Sha Coors, (cool name by the way) you make a solid point. Take for instance at the college level in basketball. According to Wikipedia, the Univ. of North Carolina has 28,136 students and Duke has a student body of 13,457. Are they not both perennial basketball powers year in and year out? El Matador, in the private school world, can you say R-E-C-R-U-I-T? Nice try though!

FROM THE BISHOP AMAT FOOTBALL PROGRAM:

"Take DR off Amat's schedule next year! said:
Lancers kicked Dranchh and anonupussy in their teeth tonight. The game was over in the first quarter and it was soooooo boring thank god the goofy anouncer provided comic relief.

DR brought a knife to a gunfight. The Dawgs pounded on the pussycats tonight. My one toothed Grandmother could have scored on that DR defense tonight. Ray Charles could have thrown over 300 yards on that defense. Obama won the Noble Peace Prize. Go figure!

Moreover, thank God we won't hear from those asinine pendejos Dranchh and anonupussy for a long time. All I can say to Anonupuss is BOHICA, BEND OVER HERE IT COMES AGAIN. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

NOW Let's beat the St Paul SLIME next week!"

CONSIDERING THEY HAVEN'T WON ANYTHING IN 15 Y E A R S, ARE THESE AMAT KIDS ARROGANT, IGNORANT, OR WHAT???

to Dan Lover that is a lie , i am a athlete at leuzinger high school and i know that coach toliver prides hisself in character, if u notice almost all of games except santa monica and hawthorne were close , so you tell me why we would put the jv's in. Banning was a severly close 2OT win & vs westchester i caught the game winner to make it 31 -24.Also if you wouldve went to the hawthorne game our jv's did play.

serra is a good team but they are in a week league and they will never get over the oaks Christian hump

serra doesnt want to play gardena why?

You hit the nail on the head Tim spacey.

SERRA'S FIRST LEAGUE GAME IS BISHOP MONTGOMERY,
YES SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE

Anonymous.. Serra stoped playing Gardena in'99 cutting the series after 5 straight wins. But mostly because after the '99 game at Gardena High, the bus was shot at. The score of the game was 46-6 Serra.
Kuntty Bend yourself over. Either you have a kid that's on a team that's been getting their A*$ whipped by Serra or you went to a rival school & had your A*$ whipped for 4 years. Or is it you can't afford to send your kid there?? Which one of these is the "truth"? Understand this.. Serra doesn't recruit.. No need too.. There is not another school in this area that combines education, athletics, and Christian Values at this high level. If your kid can compete, send him, if he can't, he needs to stay where he is and you need to stop crying like a girl. All U got is Oaks??? You mean you can't talk about your school?? That's what I thought... You need to grow a pair and compare your school to Serra. Otherwise, stop hatin...

Serra doesn't recruit? That's complete BS. Their league is lousy, but that is not Serra's fault at all. CIF sets the leagues, not the folks at Serra. That said, Oaks will crush them by atleast 21 - coaching!

Flash, Like I said, the school DOES NOT RECRUIT period... As far as the league is concerned, 3 of the league teams Serra, Cathdral, & Harvard Westlake, are in the top 10 of the their CIF Div. only Bmonty & Bernards are as you say "lousy"... This league is stronger than any other in that Div. & those 3 teams would probably beat any schools in the other leagues around the Bay. As far as Oaks is concerned, it's possible that Serra could lose big, but it's also possible that this is the team to finally beat Oaks. We'll have to see what happens in the Championship Game.

I agree with Dan Lover..while i don't know if he attended the Leuzinger-Hawthorne gm but I did. and it was a very unclassy move by Coach toliver and his staff. the score was 62-7 and Hawthorne JV was clearly out manned and out gunned mind you this was the score @ the start of the 2nd half..Leuzinger continued to play its starters in the game while Hawthorne was playing all of its bench..because Hawthorne was playing mostly 9th graders Leuzinger continued to play all of it starters while there was guys on his bench that i never saw set one foot in the gm.. maybe that is why one of our 9th graders was taken to the hospital suffering a season ending injury (concussion) all because of a coach wasn't satisfied with playing 9th graders vs 9th graders..but all is well I hear they loss yesterday like they say Karma is a bitch!!!

Serra is stacked with talent. It is BS that they do not recruit. They will not make it to the title game, but they will probably be undefeated
entering the playoffs.

I agree with David Solomon, its total bullsh*t that Serra doesn't recruit because their own coach told me they do. Their coaches brag to one another of who each coach recruited and whose responsible for recruiting their stars.

David & B Suger...

Serra does not recruit. If you "talked to a coach and they said they do... Which coach was it?? I can guarantee you no one at that school said that.

In Leuzingers win vs. hawthorne the starters didnt play in the 2nd half except at positions with lack of depth. Hawthorne didnt play their jv's, or I guess you could say it looked like it did the whole game. It was a running clock the entire 2nd half. When a program has 7 players show up for a wednessday practice and you dont call the game you are not teaching your student-athletes anything. That was the case for hawthorne the week of the lhs game. Not only is the team unprepared but it is a safety issue as it was in the jv game when the game had tobe stopped in the 3rd quarter because as the refs put it :" it is just to dangerous for this game to continue." as a player was being carted of the field on a stretcher. Shame on you Swain and shame on your players for enjoying winning so much that only 7 of them showed upto a practice on a week of a rivalry.

A big fat as*s line coach from Serra told himself that Serra does in fact recruit, a coach who played line in college. As far as I know he is still the line coach at Serra. There is your hint of who said it and who it is who told me that Serra recruits so you better tell him to keep his fat as*s mouth shut if it isn't true and you need to keep your mouth shut until such time as you tell the truth. This message is for "The Truth".

So "ask" him but don't "acts" him.

B. Sugar... Serra doesn't have a line coach that fits your discription. So either you're a liar or someone that claims they coach there told you some BS. It's obvious you have no ties to the program and are spreading rumors like everyone else. You need to keep quiet and let the intelligent grown people take care of business. How's that for the "truth"...

This guy told me two years ago. He was certainly a coach there two years ago. I know you will attempt to discredit, but the facts are the facts.
