My predictions are close at halftime.

Redondo killed itself. fumbled the first kick off and then had fumbles, interceptions and penalties. It started getting ugly in the 3rd quarter.

Congrats to Costa for advancing to the Semis.

Mira Costa Mustangs had their way with Chaminade tonight. Chaminade was completely outmatched. When it came down to business, Chaminade could not run through or around the MC line. They were able to make some big plays against MC with the pass. When MC had the ball, you can see who ruled the line. Chaminade just could not match the size of MC and got pushed backwards.

Now with Redondo out, MC is our Bay League Champ who needs to keep pushing it on to the Championship! Go Costa! Go Bay League!

Seriously!! Costa played their tales off!!!!!!
Chaminade's #2 is a legitimate athlete, but Costa's athletes were too much for him to handle by himself! Way to pass and run the ball down Chaminade's throat!

That RB from Costa rushed for more than all three of the Chaminade RB's together! Last week against Inglewood, the Chaminade RB's had over 350 yards and Costa's Defense shut down their running game tonight. Way to go Rico in racking up 180 yards against those Eagles ...

wow good job costa!

Costa is the class of the Southbay.

Nice to see Mira Costa back in the CIF championship mix. It's been a while! Go South Bay! Looks like a potential 4 section titles for the South Bay. Mira Costa (CIF Western), Serra (CIF Northern), Carson or Narbonne (City Div.I) and Chadwick (CIF Northeast)...Keep it going!!!!!

Good point, the South bay is kicking bu*tt this year. Great showing.

hey South Bay, kinda curious what you meant by its been a while since Costa was in the championship mix, they went to the finals last year???

A few weeks ago I posted Serra would have to get by either Pioneer Valley or St. Joseph's before they could think about Oaks Christian...they have St. Joseph's, who is also 12-0. It will be speed against brute force and 4 accomplished running backs. Will be a good one...I think.

Costa, just stay focused and you will meet Dominguez in the finals. Run a 4 /6 against Dominguez's wing T and you are CIF champs.

Wow, Narbonne is on fire...but so is Carson...although I don't think anyone can beat Crenshaw...and I mean anyone.

Chadwick is not a surprise to me..I watched them in passing league over the summer...which usually doesn't tell you much...except what I got is that they are very, very, well coached and have attitude and swagger.

My hopes are Costa, Chadwick, and Carson win it all....

My predictions are Dominguez, Rio Hondo Prep, Crenshaw, and Oaks C win it all....

I would love to be wrong!

"D. Solomon" - I would love for your predictions to be wrong too! I can see why you think Crenshaw and Oaks Christian may win their Divisional Championships because those two teams really look dominant respectively! Regarding the Dominguez prediction, if they get pass Alemany which will be their toughest opponent so far, I'll be surprised! Alemany loss last year in the Semi-finals and I don't see them looking back and not getting pass Dominguez. If Dominguez gets the victory, wow! They will than hopefully be facing their next toughest opponent all season(Costa)for the Championship! And again we're hoping that your overall prediction regarding the Western Division is wrong ...! Go Costa, bring that Trophy home!!

Mr. W. ....I want to be wrong! When Pen had their powerhouse teams in '04 and '05, it was Dominguez who bounced them both times in the CIF semis and then bounced West in '06 when they had a powerhouse team in the CIF finals. The Bay League Bouncers!

I did not do my homework on Alemany, that will be a tough game.

David Solomon you are right on about Chadwick being well coached. Eventhough its 8 man football, the coach is a great coach. He should think about taking over one of the coaching jobs locally if they open up such is at Bishop, Torrance or South all three schools could use a change in coaching this year and would benefit from highering that Chadwick coach.

Chadwick plays 11 man football and not 8 man. They are in the semi finals of the CIF Northeast Division and play at #2 seed Lindfield Christian Friday night.

MR. S

I went and watched Alemany vs Warren thinking the warren running back would own them ( of course after he owmned W. Torrance) I was very wrong. Alemany is very well coached and will give Dominguez all it can handle and More, Im going to pick Costa and Alemany in the Final with a very close game in the end

What does Tiger Woods and a baby seal have in common?

They both get clubbed by Scandinavians.

Boards have been a little quiet the last few days. Must not be as many fans checking in now that there are only a few teams still playing.

The Mustangs will beat the Palmdale Falcons..... again. Seems like Mira Costa plays them in the playoffs every year. Palmdale is always good and plays the Mustangs tough but just can't find a way to win. I think it's the coaching. Mustangs by at least 10 points. In the final they'll be up against Alemany who I predict will beat the Dominguez Dons by at least two touchdowns.

As long as I am predicting ....... Serra gets upset this week in the far north. It'll be a long ride home. You can thank the Daily Breeze curse! With the QB getting the big photo on the DB sports page the team is done for sure. Keep the paper away from the Mustangs!

Lastly, when someone asked Tiger's wife how many times she hit him with the golf club she said "it was three, no four, no maybe .... just put me down for a five".

Hey Go Costa - Man, you sound confident about Costa! I just like to be a little more reserved in my comments regarding predictions when it comes down to the team I root for plays. I'm fine predicting other teams outcomes, therefore, I'll agree with you regarding Alemany, but disagree regarding Serra losing. I'm rooting so deeply for Costa to make it back to the Big Show next week and as long as they come out and execute, protect the ball, and play tough "D" like they've been doing all season, things will be looking up ...!

Glad to see someone finally post again and looking forward to seeing more in the next 48 hours ...!

Mr. W ... You've seen how the Mustangs are playing. They are getting better and better. How can you not be confident they'll take care of business this week? In high school football there are no sure things .... but with these players and this coaching staff they are well positioned to move on to the big game. Palmdale's got some scary good players, but not enough of them. They could win, but I don't think so .... that's what makes the game fun. I love playoff football!!

Serra is the favorite in their game but how many kick a$$ teams have they played? St. Josephs is going to run and run and run and keep the all stars off the field. That's the way I see it but hey, it's a prediction .... which by definition is just a guess about the future.

Well Go Costa, I like your vote of confidence and I'm confident that they'll play their hearts out! I guess it's safer for the fans to feel more confident and predict the outcomes of the games. I just don't want the boys to mistakenly be over confident to their own detriment and drop the game because of it! So let's keep the confidence rolling in the stands and let the boys prove us right this week and hopefully next week too ...!!!

St Joes will have a tough game tonight but they will prevail. They have played some tough teams, not sure Serra has.

Serra played Carson in week three. That's it for tough competition. St. Joes hasn't played anyone that good. But, I still think big and strong can control the ball on long clock eating drives and prevail if the defense hangs tough. St. Joes has 5 shutouts this year so their defense must be pretty good. Good luck tonight.

"Go Costa", you say some good stuff up here but I wouldn't consider the Carson team which Serra played in week three to be anywhere near as good as a CIF team in the playoffs. Carson is in City not CIF and the level of CIF these days is far superior to City as this is not the 1970's and 1980's any longer. High school football has changed in the Southern California area since then tremendously. On a scale of 1 to 10, Carson is a 3 and Serra is an 8. Serra would beat Carson 10 out of 10 times if they were to play. However Serra certainly has its hands full this week which will be their last victory of the year nonetheless if they make it to Oaks. That really is the bottom line to all of this. Serra enjoy your victory this week because its your last for the year.

I agree that this is the last win for either of these teams. Next week is as close as you can get to a lock for Oaks Christian.

But, no Colt love? Carson is a little better than a 3 and I don't think Serra is an 8. Serra gets lots of media hype but they haven't played teams with high power ratings. I don't think they are as good as the papers say they are ..... a transfer QB and a three receivers will beat average teams but not the big boys.

I see the halftime score at St. Joes is Serra 14 and St. Joes 7. Let's see who makes the best halftime adjustments.

OK OK OK let me be the first to say I suck at predictions. Congratulations Serra on a nice win at St. Joes.

I hope my prediction about the Mustang game is not as off as this one.

Hey Go Costa - I hope your Mustang prediction isn't off also! I will say that Costa holds it down and has been doing it well and barring any major mistakes, if they do that tonight they should and hopefully will get the victory to face Alemany! Gotta knock out these Falcons first! See you tonight ...!! Go Costa!!

"Go Costa" I guess I was right once again. I said Carson was a "3" before they loss there game to a bad Narbonne team last night. Serra is definitely an "8" now since last night. Any, I hope costa wins it all.

You did make the call before the games and you deserve credit for that. Well done.

However, your 3 team was seconds away from being in the City final. I guess that's pretty good for a 3.

Your 8 team was ahead 14-7 at half against a running team that lost its RB. Without long, sustained, clock eating drives St. Joe was in trouble.

What number do you put on Costa?

Hey Go Costa - I hope your Mustang prediction isn't off also! I will say that Costa holds it down and has been doing it well and barring any major mistakes, if they do that tonight they should and hopefully will get the victory to face Alemany!
