Carson is going 2 the Ship....
that's right you herd it 1st from ColtLuv,54

Carson is going 2 the Ship....
that's right you herd it 1st from ColtLuv,54

Go Big Blue!!!!! Colt Love baby! Nacho's don't want none!

Hmmm, how did that turn out for you guys?

Narbonne is going to the Ship...came back to win it in the 4th quarter. What do you have to say now.

We all hope Narbonne doesnt go for the TIE in the championship.. Hope you all can get a real LA CITY Championship...

Yeah, how you like them apples? Or should I say Taro. That's what you Carson Colts eat or should I say Samoan Colts.

Way to go SERRA, bring on OAKS. Sure like to see SERRA vs CRENSHAW that would be great. Speed on speed.

Alamany 35 Dominguez 24 final Western now all we have to do is win against Palmdale tomorrow night. Come and join the fun.

Next week score

Crenshaw 48 Narbonne 13

narbonne is classless and lacking in sportsmanship. you can tell theyre not used to winning. coahes are idiots and teaching the players to have no class. couldnt win last year and wont win this year.

I personally dont like Carson nor Narbonne but I do like to see a Marine League team in the city champ...

"Big T" - Sorry to hear that Carson didn't make it to the Championship!! What happened? I thought for sure you guys would take Narbonne, but that just goes to prove you can never underestimate your opponent! Feel bad for you Colt Fans ...

I would be embarassed to root for Narbonne. The only reason they win is bcuz they hold on every play and high school refs dont call holding. It will be great to see Crenshaw show them how a real team wins.

lol carson stop being soar losers and give narbonne there credit .....at the end narbonne wanted it more and had more skills!cheers GAUCHOS play like true defending champs

Gaucho Fan is an idiot! If he has to use race to make his point, then perhaps he should keep his mouth shut.

No one likes the Nachos. Thanks to the Pilot and Pirate supporters who were on the Carson side routing for the Colts!

Costa beat Narbonne early in the season, but it wasn't easy. They play hard.

Narbonne still ain't $hit....Narbonne going 2 to get taxed next week by crenshaw..

Narbonne wins when it matters, back to Colisium back to back!!Carson dont be soar losers!!!

Yeah guys.... I hear Crow tastes just like Chicken.

What's troubling you, Carson fans? That you got beat at home? That you went undefeated in league and didn't make the title game? That Narbonne's were celebrating a bit too much for your taste? Deal with it. Chances are that if you had won, you'd have done the same thing. If you're in high school now, I understand your frustrations, but there are bigger and better things yet to come in your life. If you're not in high school, shame on you; you're old enough to know better. Don't be jealous at Narbonne's success, they just made the plays that counted in the end. Let's keep things in perpective here: it's high school football. Let's respect the efforts of the players. Go Gauchos, beat the Cougars!

Thats just plain dumb and ignorant Gauchofan races prick!Im not samoan but have alot of friends that are !!!!!!Grow up

You guys want to talk about not having any class??? We beat Carson at their house two years in a row and YOUR coach "C" didn't even have the class to shake hands! Nice example to set for the kids. As for the kids, great job Carson, you guys played a hell of a game like I knew you would. And shame on all of you that are going to root against the MArine league next week. If Carson had won, my wife and I would be cheering for Carson next week. A lot of these young men were and will be friends long after this game, it amazes me how so many parents live through their kids and have never stepped on the field. Good job both teams and go get Crenshaw Narbonne. And for the person who said something about us "going for the tie", we didn't go for the tie vs Crenshaw last year and it was Pedro who went for the tie against us and both teams earned a ring. get ya facts straight.

Fucc Narbonne!!!!!

SAY MAN yall colts need to stop ........you were warned the last two weeks by me that this was gonna happen. We are gonna dominate carson every year until Coach C shakes our hands after the game (which he has not done unless they win).He is a coward.. He and he alone is the reason why We (the gauchos had this seed in the playoffs, he was our league rep and did not push to have as many marine league teams as he could have ,so tell coach C to buy a ticket and come watch us rep the marine league tell him to blame the kids again i hear that is his specialty.......
G O G A U C H O 's

YOU NEED TO STOP PLAYING THE RACE CARD BECAUSE NARBONNE HAS SAMOAN,BLACK,WHITE,ASIAN,MEXICAN,AND POLISH KIDS ON OUR TEAM ERASE THE HATE YOU grown ups

Carson Fans give credit where credit is due.... Narbonne was the better team tonight!!! This was a big accomplishment for Gauchos to beat the Marine league Champs Congats Gauchos!!! And I agree what Bryan’s Daddy said “And shame on all of you that are going to root against the Marine league next week. If Carson had won, my wife and I would be cheering for Carson next week. A lot of these young men were and will be friends long after this game" Either Way it goes People The Gauchos made it to the Coliseum 2yrs in a Row!! Yes We Face Crenshaw An undefeated team, but Remember "The Super bowl Giants Vs Patriots where the underdog Giants Defeated the Patriots” Records & Stats don't win games!!
GO!!!!!!!! Gauchos!!!!!!!!! FINISH!!

Congrats to you Gauchos - you deserve the win tonight... but go for the win and no ties !! Represent the Marine League for the City Champ. And all you Costa/Serra fans put your money where your mouth is; Carson have no shame in their game and will confront any team (coast to coast). Carson is a good contender when it comes to football, baseball, and basketball and regardless of City/CIF divisions. I realize when you have to prove a point - Carson is always in the mix.

Gauchos Baby!!! Well said bryans daddy about the tie we didnt.... the pirats did and yes narbonne did go for the win against crenshaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!sorry carson [league champs] lol 42-38 nuff said

Good job Gauchos, there can only be one winner. Narbonne
stepped up it's game and I give them lots of credit. Coach Christiansen
is such a soar loser, but much props to his staff and players, yah did a
hella of a job this season. Good luck next year and coach Christiansen
learn how to be FAIR with others...that's why lakewood fired your ass.
Let's go Marine League, Keep the Championship in the Harbor Area....
Carson Colt Fan...

Good game last night!!!

carson will be back next year

Congrats 2wo narbonne, maybe they can hang in there with Crenshaw, for the first quarter lol

WOW, I dont know much about Carson, but I noticed the past few weeks, you guys were pretty confident even borderline cocky about your teams chances. Thats ok! However, Im reading some horrible displays of sportmanship after you lose. Give props to the kids of both teams and congratulate Narbonne for there success. Apparently both teams played there hearts out. Someone earlier mentioned about how the parents are living thru the kids. I would also add the kids sometimes aren't the problem, its the parents. Thats from the pop warner level, even ayso soccer. Get a grip ADULTS. Let your kids play, and teach them sportsmanship by displaying it yourselves.

Nice....competition brings out the best and the worst in people, fans and players.....But anywho? The only thing that matters is the State Championship and the City needs to find a representative....CRENSHAW is the only team that has a vote, GO CRENSHAW.....GRANT HS. Sacramento, ca....LB POLY NORTH but better, reps there City league.... Crenshaw is not in there league... Theyll probly play OAKS CHRISTIAN, Oaks Christian is gonna find out what Poly and coach Lara found out last year, "Aint no future in the frontin".

Serra is toast this week. I said it and that is already determined. Friday my prediction will be finalized. Serra great season and be happy with your last win of the season you did a great job. Dont be ashamed that you will get throttled by Oaks this Friday night and I will be there to watch. I do predict that Serra will be within 30 points.

ps- Carson is sad to lose to Narbonne last night. What happened? The city league is really sad this year.

Anybody but Narbonne! Go Crenshaw. Marine League Fan

Anybody but Narbonne! SP Fan

So sorry Carson, we were rooting for you. Go Crenshaw.

I apologize for my words and actions. But if any of you say that Narbonne shouldn't go for the tie, well they wont. Last year San Pedro did it only because coach Walsh couldn't see Narbonne Win. And if you really follow the rules that the district imposed for this year, the Championship game will never end in a tie. For Carson not shaking hands its because they can never show that were defeated by a better team, even though it was Narbonne tonight. But it could have been any team that was going up against the Colts. Just take this as a learning experience and move forward. I know I will.

still can't believe why didn't use ALO as QB for carson. He clearly was the better of them. See what happened when he was put in. They almost came back. My son played with him at tri-city boys an athlete. Carson needs to use there talent. But in other words my sons going to the ship and good job Gauchos. Sorry but as a parent and a fan of this game. I just had to say that about Carson coach "c". Well anyway crenshaw be ready because we are coming for you guys next week. Proud of you Gauchos. CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS SOUND RIGHT TO YOU BOYS? i think it does.

Alemany vs. Mira Costa next Friday for the Western Division Sectional Championship!!!!! How sweet it is!

Palmdale was their usual scary selves, especially Josh Shaw, #2, and Costa is glad to have them out of the way. Can't wait till next Friday.

CITY Vs CIF.... it would be nice to have somthin like that for a championship game. But still CIF has a tougher schudule.

Say, does anyone remember the guy on this board who said after the MC victory over Palos Verde Sea Kings that Costa could only win with "homer" officials and that the Mustangs were in trouble because they still had to play against those fast teams from Leuzinger and Redondo? Haven't heard much from him lately.

Early word is that Alemany is solid but doesn't have the "scare" factor that Palmdale had (Palmdale's #2 in particular ... what a gifted player). It will take a solid effort to win the title but the Costa players have been turning in solid performances now for several weeks. Keep it up for one more game!

Wow....much respect to Narbonne ON the football field. Funny, the CIF LA seeded you guys 11th. Shows how much they know. I would rather see Narbonne win to keep the city title in the South Bay along with Mira Costa and Serra in their respective divisions. It really says alot that three local teams are playing for CIF titles. Great for South Bay football in general. Even though many a rivalry run deep, other teams in the Marine, Bay, and Del Rey League should not hate and support your league representative! Good luck to all of you guys next week!

SAY MAN, The Mighty GURU has spoken The Bonne will win City, The GURU knows, SAY MAN

This is an easy week of predictions:

Mira Costa big over their next opponent as this is the Best Costa team which Morrow has ever had by far and now they all know it.

Look for Serra to get beat by at least 30 points against Oaks because I was told that Oaks will not in anyway put in their second and third stringers in the second half as they did the past two meetings together between the two teams.

Hey Nostril... why does Oaks want to run it up on Serra? Is there some bad blood history? Come on, give us the details.

I've never seen Oaks play but did see Serra play against El Segundo last year when they almost got beat. Watching the Serra players making vulgar and disgusting gestures at the El Segundo fans after the game didn't leave a good impression.

If george farmer and paul richardson dont play it will be hard for serra to not get slaughtered

gaucho fan up there said walsh went for the tie cuz he didnt want to see narbonne win...hahahahaa...duuuh you think? geniuses are obviously bred at narbonne. personally i think he went for the tie just so he could watch the gaucho players all cry like losers on the sidelines. what most fail to mention is the incredible choke job by the gauchos in the last minutes giving up a big lead. what a buncha losers.

I would like to publicly thank the referees at the Mira Costa/Palmdale game on Saturday. They did a balanced job of refereeing, much better than some of the other CIF referees we've had in the past. I just wish CIF could figure out how to come up with more referee crews like this one. I'm using this arena because there is no place on the CIF site to pass on compliments or complaints--too bad for them.

Get rid of christensen he focused on 1 player, one that wont get anywhere in college or even close to NFL he's not good enough. wasted good talent. coach lost game for the boys and how much they deserved to win. I hate selfish and unfair coaches. hope you get fired again. And all the fans have talked about him all year. sorry about the lost you did a great job boys.
big Carson Fan, Justin would have won that game for us!!!

So sad to see my [carson] football players not do their best in the first half of the game. I still believe we had it; just had a couple of slip ups in the last quarter. But that's okay. They came back in the end, and we didn't get slaughtered; just beaten by some points. I think those boys will do great next year and make it to the Championship. I do not like Narbonne, but it is good that they're representing for the bay. However, I believe Crenshaw will take those rings. && GauchosFan you are really ignortant and dumb for that remark made, but I won't get into that... Good job to Carson. I'm proud of you guys. You made it farther than last year, and you're better than last year, too. CONGRATS! Next year you'll have things on lock for sure. Still Marine League Champs...

CCCCCCCCCCCCC-hOUUUSSSSEEEEEEE!!!!!!! =D

I saw the Carson/Narbonne game Friday. Both teams looked as if they had talent, but both seemed a little rough around the edges. It was pure size against speed. Looking at all the skinny dudes on the Carson line, I am impressed with how far they got this year with the relative size of their squad. Soon into the 1st quarter, I saw how fast their ball handlers can get to the endzone. Congrats on your great League Championship. Sorry you got overpowered by the obviously stronger Narbonne line. During all short yardage up the middle plays, Narbonne just rolled you onto your backs with your legs pinned back!

The game was a true shootout, with Narbonne taking command in the 3rd. Just when I thought Carson was ready to give it up, Narbonne fumbles in their own territory, and Carson makes a 14 point gain in 2 minutes, and shortly thereafter, taking the lead! Amazing! But....there was no stopping those Goucho's, who came back to take another bite out of the Colts.

A great game!

"Go Costa" I believe because its a parting statement to the division in that Serra is moving on to a different league and I believe Oaks is as well in the new alignment. But I think Oaks wants to make the statement that Serra doesn't belong in their class which is true.

Carson/Narbonne game was a toss up. The refs controlled that game. Either way, i think neither one of them would have a chance against Crenshaw.... Sorry but that's a fact. ALO 21 points as soon as he got in the game, c'mon coach C, they ALL work hard all year and for what, to see minimal play......

To all Carson fans: Carson should of won!!!! When narbonne was 4&10 and had one minute and 7 seconds and NO TIME OUT when he throw a yellow flag that was to much time on field not a TIME OUT!!!!!! and how can they put 5 minutes back on the clock HELLOOOOOO NOT JUST ONCE BUT TWICE......So Carson football team you guys play good and fair game!!!!!!

Nostil & Go Costa,

For the record, there is no bad blood between Serra & Oaks. There is mutual respect. The fact that the last 2 years Oaks beat Serra in there house is what motivates this Serra team. All you numb nuts have been Hating on Serra all year because none of the teams in this area are a match for Serra. AND NO TEAM in this AREA wants any part of OAKS. Serra is the only team that has played them & will line up again to do so. STAY HOME. DO NOT come to our HOUSE with your hating negative energy. Read the papers in the morning and see how we shocked the world.

Nobody is "hating on Serra". I just don't think they are as good as you think they are. Hey, no biggie ... we're all entitled to our opinion. This is just a football message board.

But now that you brought it up, I think Costa would beat Serra by playing power, smash mouth football. Costa's line would dominate on both sides on the ball. But, we'll never know regarding this year's teams. Serra is going to finish with Oaks and Costa is going to finish with Alemany.

Alemany played Oaks tough this year losing 28-17. Let's see how Serra does against Oaks and how Costa does against Alemany.

Next year might be different. Serra moves up to a big boy league (Mission) and will play in the Western Division playoffs if they get to them. Costa and Serra might meet in the playoffs next year and we'll see how that turns out.

My goodness! I typed an awesome message and the PC timed out! In a nutshell, I originally typed that I agreed with "The Truth" about Serra beating OC. OC struggled for a while with Venice High? Palmdale, unlike Serra didn't have enough playmakers. That's primarily why Costa stopped Palmdale, but we would've gotten them even if they had more playmaker's! Just like Bama beat the Gators, Serra will upset OC! Therefore, if Costa protects the ball and executes like they've been doing, they can get that victory over Alemany! So it boils down to two South Bay Champions (Western & Northern Divisions).

Therefore, like I mentioned over a month and a half ago, we need a South Bay Championship Game!! Promote it like a Bowl Game! Little League Pop-Warner teams play in January why can't the High Schooler's? It's a great scouting tool, bragging rights, and fundraiser for both programs! Let's have it at a neutral site (i.e. at Redondo or West High or at El Camino College Stadium)? What say ye fellas, peace ...?

Correction regarding a Divisional Championship match. Meant to say it would be cool if Costa's the Western Champ vs. Serra if they're the Northwest Divisional Champ for a South Bay Championship game. Hey, is Farmer and the other receiver alright? I heard that one was questionable before last Friday's game and that Farmer may not be playing in the Championship game? If that's the case, it doesn't look good for Serra after all ...? Just wondering, please advise regarding the injury report ...

"The Truth" as the poster said, no one is hating on Serra. Get some thick skin guy. By the way I will be there to watch no doubt. But the truth really is that Oaks will crush them three years in a row. The statement has nothing to do with hating on anyone. Sorry but that really is the "truth". In fact I said it prior to the other two meetings between the two teams and other Serra fans called me a hater then which is terribly misplaced. I merely is making a prediction based on facts. Now, three years in a row Oaks is going to crush Serra and there is nothing anyone can do to change that. By the way, what is with any and all Serra fans calling everyone "haters" if a fan picks against Serra? Grow up stupid.

Nostril,

What the hell do you know...
It has nothing to to with picking against Serra and everything to do with not getting the respect due to a program that has done nothing but WIN over the last 20 years. All the parents and supporters are tried of the same ole crap. WE recruit, we steal everyones players, we get beat buy this team or that..If you are for the success of all our kids in this area , then be that. I stop you hating of this program. As I said before NO ONE ELSE has stepped up to play OAKS but SERRA.
Let me also tell you about this Big Boy League crap. Serra has played in the Mission League before, winning 1 outright title and tying for another in the 4 years we we're there. Then, the League had Notre Dame, St.Francis, Chaminade, Serra, Havard Westlake. etc. Let me tell you this, If MICO doesn't win D3 this year, they are in a whole lot of trouble. We'll be back to the finals next year and won't have to deal with OAKS. You'll have to deal with US. We'll lose a lot of D1 talent from this Sr. class, but there's a whole lot coming back. Remember the 3 teams moving from the Del Rey league to Mission are the same ones that all went to the 2nd round playoffs. 2 of the 3 into the Semi's, and 1 (Serra) on to the finals. We're lookin forward to next season without OAKS, but first thing first. You come Friday night and watch the show we put on. This is what we wanted and if we work hard, we'll beat these guys.

Respect is earned not demanded. Seems to me Serra gets a lot respect for their winning team.

MICO will be just fine next year. They usually don't have a bunch of D1 players so they make do with what they have. A lot of work in the weight room and a great work ethic can work miracles. Coach Morrow's teams have been doing it for years. Next year they'll get back a few very good players and bring up the undefeated (in Bay League) JV's. Combine that with the usual great coaching and it's back to the playoffs.

The privates do get some outstanding players from the public schools. It is a fact. Is it because of the "R" word or do they just transfer in on their own? Who cares? I'm not complaining. As a matter of fact, I believe the OAKS free safety your team will face Friday was a Mustang last year. Denying it happens seems obtuse.

Regarding Friday night ... can't come watch your game ..... I'll be at the College of the Canyons watching my team battle Alemany (one of those privates). Costa is going to give all they've got .... just like I expect Serra will. Hope everyone gets the happy ending they want.

"Hope everyone gets the happy ending they want."

With that being said Go Costa, the argument continues for another whole year because I predict the victors will be "Costa and Serra" respectively!! So both of our teams win JV league titles and move up to Varsity to help rebuild squads that lose some great talent in 2010's graduating class. But I'll still chime in although my Costa athlete is graduating and I'll be able to see first hand next year the talent of both squads personally. Been too consumed watching the awesome season of, "Mr. Nunn, The Tavai Bros. (JR's returning), Mr. Wright, Mr. Reece, Mr. Lockwood, Mr. Jelmini, Mr. Probasco, Mr. Brenner, Mr. Miller, Mr. Morrow, Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Kazmata, and last, but certainly not least Mr. DeMarco!!!!!!"

I pray God will bless this Championship Friday to both Costa and Serra!!! Go young men, represent with dignity and swagger and bring home those trophies to the South Bay!!

Hey colts fans. Check the CIF webpage for approved transfers. Cornell Wiley(#2) of Narborrne who caught the winning TD has not been approved to play varsity sports. See page 8 of the list. OPPS!
http://www.cif-la.org/ourpages/auto/2009/7/22/37219702/2009-10%20Transfer%20Eligibility%20List.doc?rn=316382

Thet(t)uth,

O(P)PS!

You sure your not deleting data and reprinting to start something?

Just wondering with the typooooooooos.

Guys.

I'm with you on this. I hope our teams play hard, play strong. Let's Win it all. We'll debate about next year, next year... Go Cavs!

To "The Truth"

Since you are being unruly here about a simple prediction of mine with regards to Oaks crushing Serra this Friday I guess I will have to bag on you the rest of the year and all the way through next year during the season about how your team lost after the game. And I guess you deserve to get bagged on for the last two years Serra got burried by Oaks.

I will begin now about the last two years: "I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO. YOU GUYS GOT SPANKED........HA HA HA HA HA HA............YOU GUYS GOT SPANKED....HA HA HA HA.....(These are for the past two years Serra got spanked in their previous meetings against Oaks). If I recall even South High did as well as Serra did against Oaks last year and that is pretty funny......HA HA HA HA HA

Thettuth ifs that is true about a non-eligible player catching a pass in a game and then the team won the game, people need to march on the steps of the CIF and hold them accountable for allowing this. That game outcome needs to be overturned ASAP if you are correct. However if its not true, then that ain't cool about posting it.

People talk about the 'R' word for private schools-- recruiting. But what about the 'P' word for public schools? That's right-- Permits.

It's the same thing private schools get blasted for... kids coming from outside the area to play sports. Except, its supposedly all "legal" and fair. Nobody ever talks about that.

Mira Costa has always taken permit kids from Hawthorne (especially Del Aire and Wiseburn areas), Lawndale, Redondo, El Segundo, torrance, etc. They have an amazing ability draw, even more than private schools. They offer a great education and it is free! A kid goes to a private school and he still has to pay 500+ per month. Costa is just as good (or arguably better) and it is free. There is no way that every kid on that football team has a 90266 zip code.

And Costa isn't the only school that takes permits. Redondo's basketball team has had Inglewood kids on it since the 80's. Peninsula and PV have tons of Pedro and Lomita kids on their teams. Brian Bauchaum from West lived in Harbor City. Not to mention the majority of Torrance High's state champion girls golf team-- mostly Harbor City residents. If I remember correcty Chauncy Washington from South lived in Lomita (I could be wrong on this though).

To be fair, you can't talk about recruiting and private schools without including permits for the publics. Don't be fooled, just because a kid is enrolled in a public school doesn't mean he or she actually live there.

I remember talking to the Compton A.D. one time and he said there wasn't hardly a championship team in football or basketball in all of southern california that didn't have a kid from Compton on it. It was a couple of years ago and I remember looking at all the rosters and being shocked. Mater Dei, Oaks Christian, Loyola, Lakewood, Orange Lutheran, Westchester, Long Beach Poly, Serra, etc, etc, etc. All had Compton kids. If anybody is being robbed of talent its them. Not that I blame the kids necessarily, just an interesting observation.

Bottom line, Oaks kicks the he*ll out of Serra for the 3rd year in a row and there is nothing Serra fans can do to change it. This is all to familiar by the two previous matches and Serra fans just talk sh*it and after the game they hide like little weenie girls until the next season and pretend they were not talking cr*ap. Sorry weenie girls this is all that matter and guess what Serra and all of the other teams have in common other than Oaks, they didn't win the championship. I will be at this game and I will be sitting on the Serra side rooting for Oaks and there is nothing any Serra fan will be able to do about it. Thats right, I will be on the Serra side rooting for oaks and there is nothing any Serra fan can or will do about it after the pounding that Serra takes on the field.

Oaks Christian and Serra have both worked hard to get where their at today. Both programs deserve the proper respect. This game has been the talk of the town all year because Oaks has beat Serra in the past but too bad both teams can't win because they both have very talented players.

I've observed the Serra coach and it's players make statements in the newspaper about how confident they are about having the right things in place to take this one. Meanwhile the Oaks Christian staff and players haven't had much to say about the game. I like that, no hype, actions speak louder than words.

I wish all the boys the best and may the best team win!!!

To the coward named Serra Stinks.

Me and some other Serra supporters WISH YOU WOULD show up on our side on the field and say some OAKS SH!*... YOU will get punched dead in your MOUTH.

Now show up and ID yourself if you got the Guts.. We'll look for you.

MAN UP BI&^TC

Hey "The Doctor" are you getting tuff on this board? I agree with Serra Stinks. He can go to any game he wants to without any fear. What are you ghetto thugs? What kind of lousy talk is that you spout off about? Nice representation of a school dude."Me and some Serra supporters".....look at what you write tough guy that you cannot handle yourself and you need other supporters? That sentence of yours says it all how gutless and what a coward you are. There are allot of great parents and fans who support Serra and will disagree with your trash talking. Serra has allot of pleasant folks over there and you are not one of them. I think that I am going to go just to support Oaks in that game on the Serra side as well. What are you going to do about it punk? You will know who we are. We will be the white guys.

Just hoping for a good game friday night! Pulling for the local teams (Costa/Serra) it will be tough but not impossible. The running back for Oaks Christian was named "California Gatorade Player Of The Year". This morning he was also named "National Gatorade Player Of The Year". Has anyone seen this kid live or is he just hype. Was only able to see a little of him on tv and he was alright...

And then God/nature/whatever added the dreaded RAIN. Of all the football teams in all the high schools in the good old USA we of the South Bay area probably are the most spoiled by good weather. What I mean is NO RAIN. I will very much enjoy watching the slip-n-slide match on Friday--I bet Costa slips-n-slides better than Alemany because our players know how to surf also! The venue was changed from Alemany's grass field to College of the Canyon's turf field--equalizing the playing field. Unlike last year's Quartz Hill's unique venue--don't know what was worse; the weird winds, the cold or the lack of seating, parking, food, lighting...

Welcome to the Western Division Serra (next year) now you can stop beating El Segundo (who also got whomped on by OC).

Welcome to the Western Division Serra (next year) now you can stop beating El Segundo (who also got whomped on by OC). I sure agree with this statement.

Come right on "White Guys".. We'll be the one's with our foot in your A$$ you punk BIT@*.

Anyway, good luck to you guys over at Serra it would be nice to see you beat Oaks. I am predicting otherwise, but it really would be nice to see you win it all. You can do it if you play mistake free football.

Costa, you guys amaze me. What fine coaching over there each and every year. Great job. Good players as well. What is amazing is that your school has 2300 students and you are beating teams who have 3500 students. This shows just how classy your program really is. Morrow and his staff are real students of the game and the time you put into studying the adversary is overwhelming and it pays off!

I predict that you bring home the gold this year. I believe you win this game by 14 points.

Great year to Serra and Costa and good luck to you. I cannot wait to see the Serra game tonight.

Just want to clarify something. It was San Pedro that went for the tie, not Narbonne. Not really fair to bag on the Gauchos for that one. It's going to be a big test against the very strong Crenshaw team, but, stanger things have happened
before. Good luck fm the Marine Leaguers.

Dave Thorpe

Dave Thorpe was a self-proclaimed, slightly above average baseball player back in the day at Torrance's West High, who went on and had an unspectacular, injury-riddled stint as a third baseman at El Camino College. Trading bat for pen, Thorpe wrote sports for the Long Beach Union newspaper at Long Beach State University, then worked as the sports editor for the Palos Verdes Peninsula News for seven years before climbing down the Hill to the Daily Breeze, where he has been a sports writer covering local sports since 2007.
