Change for Chad

If you get a chance, contribute in some way to Chad Munson and his family as he battles cancer. "Chad's Army" is hosting  the "Change for Chad" Flag Football Tournament, which will take place Sunday, Feb. 28, with the opening ceremonies starting at 9 a.m. at West Torrance High's football stadium.
There are multiple ways to have some fun and raise money for Chad Munson and his family. You can enter to play in the co-ed tournament, you can donate a prize or you can  donate money toward the cause. Chad, 28, was a Daily Breeze all-area first-team quarterback as a senior at West High in 1998. He went on to  play football for Compton College, Long Beach City College and  Western Michigan University.
There is a minimum of 10 people per team at $35 per player. All teams receive a "Change for Chad" T-shirt.

Tony Ciniglio

Tony Ciniglio is an 11-year veteran at the Daily Breeze and is the Prep-JC Editor. Dave Thorpe

Dave Thorpe was a self-proclaimed, slightly above average baseball player back in the day at Torrance's West High, who went on and had an unspectacular, injury-riddled stint as a third baseman at El Camino College. Trading bat for pen, Thorpe wrote sports for the Long Beach Union newspaper at Long Beach State University, then worked as the sports editor for the Palos Verdes Peninsula News for seven years before climbing down the Hill to the Daily Breeze, where he has been a sports writer covering local sports for more than two years.
