With Palos Verdes set to host its first football game on its renovated field, the Sea Kings wanted to hold a ceremony to kick off this week's festivities.
Palos Verdes will host a field dedication on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Guest speakers likely will include Coach Pat Fresch, principal Chris Bowles and the superintendent among many dignitaries. It will also be the first time that the Sea Kings will take the field as a team.
"We didn't want to hold it Friday," Bowles said. "We wanted the focus on the game on Friday. But we wanted to emphasize the major improvements we have done to the field."
Palos Verdes added field turf and a surrounding all-weather track and is the third local school this season to open a renovated field, following Banning and Narbonne. Look for the Sea Kings to be inspired Friday against San Pedro.
