Sparks vs. Storm postgame

Head Coach Michael Cooper
Regarding the team's home/road splits:
"Again, championships are won on the road and obviously we haven't fared well, but it is nice to have home games and play extremely well. That's our saving factor right now. That's going to become very important for us to win at home. I thought we played extremely, extremely well as a team tonight. I think we really affected that team. I think they missed some shots but we made them miss a lot. We just imposed our game on them."

Regarding the team's defense, holding the Storm to a season low in points:
"That's what we've been working on. Prior to this game, we've been working on our defense and everybody has made a committed effort that we're going to be a defensive team, and that really showed tonight."

On the strength of the team's bench:
"In order for a team to be successful, it has to have a good bench. This year, we have a fabulous bench. I think we have a very diverse bench. I think Noelle comes in and she's a utility person we can slide around out there, Bobbitt comes in and changes the tempo of the game, and Vanessa is that big body we haven't had here in a long time, and she's one that can get in there and score. When we come in with different people off the bench, it adds a new dimension to our game. You haven't even seen the best of us. We still have Candace to come, and it's going to be exciting them."

#45 Noelle Quinn:
On her bench contribution:
"First of all, I would like to say the starters set the tone. I used that momentum and intensity. I come in and make that defensive effort and generate easy buckets. When our defense is great, we can turn that around and get easy buckets."

On defense on Jackson:
"When Lauren Jackson got the ball in deep, we were double teaming and everybody was rotating and everybody seemed like we were on the same page today."

#24 Marie Ferdinand-Harris:
On defensive effort on Jackson:
"Whenever we play Seattle, we know its' going to be a very physical game because of Lauren, she's a very physical player. We tried to match that aggressiveness from the jump. I thought we did an awesome job of putting pressure on her from the very beginning. I felt the double team was very effective and it frustrated her all night."

Defensive effort against Bird/Jackson/Cash:
"We wanted to put our foot down and open it up a little bit. The biggest thing is Lauren; we saw the frustration on her face. That team feeds off Lauren. As Lauren goes, so does the team go. So we wanted to make sure we were doing a good job defensively, taking away Swin and Sue Bird as well."

Opponent Team Quotes ...
Head Coach Brian Agler:
On the Storm's Play:
"We didn't play very well; this was an effort that we hope is not repeated. We didn't play well together, broke down both offensively and defensively and we had a lack in execution. You name it we did it, if it was negative."

On the Sparks execution:
"I thought Los Angeles played well, I thought they played well at our place too. I take nothing away from them, they did exactly what they needed to do."
Sue Bird #10:
On the Sparks energy level
"LA played really well, and we didn't. They played with a lot of energy. We couldn't match their energy level after the first quarter. They made a run and we never recovered."

Lauren Jackson #15:
On the Sparks performance:
"LA played amazing, they were very physical. It was a bit of a beating but we needed it though."
