Kurt Cobain package offered in Seattle

     Planning to take in the
Seattle Art Museum’s Kurt Cobain exhibit this summer?  Start

by calling the Inn at Harbor Steps, where the new “Art
Across the Steps” package gets you tickets to Kurt,
dinner at a popular local eatery, and a room at a contemporary boutique hotel right across the street from the museum.

Grunge music is arguably
Seattle’s greatest cultural export of the past
20 years, and Kurt Cobain was that movement’s central figure,” says
Michael
Darling, The Jon and Mary Shirley Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art
at the
Seattle Art Museum. “During and after his brief career, his life and
work have
reverberated across the globe. Kurt celebrates that influence, in
particular the effect he had on the creative lives and thought processes
of
artists. Kurt Cobain symbolized the ideals, aspirations and
disappointments of
the ’90s generation, and a diverse array of artists have incorporated
his image
into their work to comment on those issues.”

    International
in scope, the works on
view in Kurt range from portraiture to pieces that show a more
subtle
assimilation of Cobain’s ethos and idealism in a broad range of media.

Across the street from the Seattle Art Museum, art
patrons
will find the Inn at Harbor Steps to be the most convenient place to
stay, and
the hotel’s Kurt package a good value.  The package includes
one night, two VIP tickets to the Seattle Art
Museum
including the Kurt exhibit, with cell
phone tour and podcast ($30 value), dinner for two ($50 dining
certificate) at
one of Seattle’s Tom Douglas restaurants (Dahlia Lounge, Lola, Etta’s,
Palace
Kitchen or Serious Pie), Four Sisters Inns’ signature breakfast, and
afternoon
wine and hors d’oeuvres.
      Prices
for the “Art Across the Steps” package range from $245 to $295, per
couple (not
per person), depending upon the room selected. All guest rooms for this
package
have fireplaces, perfect for cool Seattle summer nights, and some rooms
have jetted
spa tubs.
The package is offered Sunday through Thursday nights, now through Sept. 6.  Please note that the Seattle
Art Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays when making travel plans.
