Initially only for select customers, UberLUX now available to everyone (who can afford a $30 minimum fare)

Los Angeles is Uber’s largest market. It’s also the testing ground for the taxi app’s latest offering: rides in ultra-luxurious cars like Teslas, Mercedes Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series.

The company announced Monday (Dec 29) that the service would be available to all Angelenos, after an initial rollout earlier this month to its most “valued riders.”

Uber has experimented with UberLUX in several cities in the past, but Los Angeles is the first city to get UberLUX on a permanent basis.

Uber already offers high-end rides with UberBLACK and UberSUV, which have minimum fares of $15 and $25, respectively. Minimum fare for UberLUX is $30.
