It looks as if a poster on Ubisoft’s official forums has managed to get their hands on a message that includes details on the upcoming sequel to Ubisofts 2007 action game. The message has now been deleted.
The post which contained information to be published in the May issue of Game Informer magazine, reveals a plethora of information on Assassin’s Creed 2, some of which was hinted at in the recent teaser trailer.
It purports that the next game in the franchise will take place in 15th Century Venice and thereabouts, allowing players to explore various locations such as Saint mark’s Basillica, The Grand Canal and even da Vinci’s workshop.
The assassin in the the new game will go by the name of Ezio Auditore de Firenze and have access to a lot more weapons than Altair did, such as a spear, an axe, a hammer, two different kinds of sword, a halberd and 2 smaller blades.
Players will be able to swim in the canals and fly over the city in da Vinci’s flying machine.
According to the post, the new game will include 16 new mission types and the variety of enemies will be greatly increased from the first game, with archers, elites, armored troops and dagger wielders all making an appearance.
The gameplay from the original title will stay more or less the same with a few tweaks being added, like the ability to attack from a stack of hay. The free running, wall climbing and horse riding abilities will all be present.
This rumor has yet to be confirmed so could still prove to be bogus. Sounds pretty convincing though.
