Mauresmo is French toast ...again...in Paris...

We know that reigning Wimbledon champion Amelie Mauresmo can win a grand slam tournament - she's won two. She just can't seem to win in her home country. On Satuday, Mauresmo's dismal luck at the French Ope continued when she was beaten by Lucie Safarova who also beat her at this year's Australian Open when Amelie was defending champ! Lucie won 6-3, 7- 6 (7-3) this time. It should be noted that Mauresmo has a lingering groin injury.
``There's no miracle today,'' the fifth seed said in a news conference. ``I've been struggling for weeks and coming here I didn't know what to expect. It showed that when you're not prepared the way you should be, it makes it very hard.''
Her defeat came after Maria Sharapova and fellow Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova eased into the fourth round where Serena Williams and Justine Henin already are with wins yesterday.
On the men's side, defending men's champion Rafael Nadal beat Albert Montanes 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 and is now in the fourth round along with his next opponent Lleyton Hewitt who nearly beat him in Hamburg last month.
``He's playing at his best level,'' Nadal said of Hewitt. ``And at his best level, he's one of the best players in the world.''
Also through to the fourth round is a pair of veterans: 30-year-old former champion Carlos Moya and 35-year-old Jonas Bjorkman. Sixth-seeded Novak Djokovic was just two points from defeat but rallied to beat Olivier Patience 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 in four hours.
