Navrartilova and Shriver reunite on Broadway...

IMG_2052.JPG
OK, winning the US Open mixed doubles title last year one month shy of your 50th birthday is one thing, but Martina Navratilova on Broadway?
Actually, the tennis legend and lesbian icon and her former doubles partner Pam Shriver attended a special performance of the play Deuce (that would be a great name for a tennis blog!) , which benefited the United States Tennis Aaan.'s Tennis & Education Foundation.
Martina and Pam met with the play's stars Marian Seldes and Angela Lansbury backstage recently. The Terrence McNally play features Seldes and Lansbury as two retired female tennis doubles partners who meet years later at the US Open, and try to make sense of their professional and personal relationship.
Backstage, Seldes remarked to the room full of tennis aficionados that there was an excitement in the air that evening and it felt like opening night all over again, according to Broadway World.com.
