Serena wins again in Paris...sets up showdown with Henin...

How delicious is THIS?
Four years after their bitter French Open semifinal, Serena Williams and Justine Henin will play each other in the quarterfinals Monday or Tuesday. It is a big shame that this is not a final since these are two grand slam warriors and clearly the best players in the world right now. But Serena's low ranking of eight means things like this can happen.
On Sunday, the top-seeded and two-time defending champ Henin breezed past Austrian Sybille Bammer 6-2 6-4 while 2002 champ Williams overwhelmed 10th seed Dinara Safina 6-2, 6-3.
Watch out Justine, Serena - reigning Australian Open champion, is believing in herself again and that is a dangerous thing for the rest of the women's field. Henin and Williams have not met at Roland Garros since the Belgian won their controversial semi-final in 2003 when Serena left the court in tears to boos from the Paris crowd, who were backing the underdog Belgian.
"Justine is really good here but I am playing the clay court game really good," Serena told the press after the match. "I don't want to reflect on what happened in 2003 any more. This is a new year and we are both different people. I have matured and if the crowd gets involved, I can just zone out."
Said Henin: "What happened in 2003 was one of the best memories of my career and I will never forget that moment. But it's four years ago now and a lot of things have happened and we've grown up a lot."
Yeah, yeah. We all know what this is: GRUDGE MATCH!!!
Oh yeah, third seed Svetlana Kuznetsova and fourth seed Jelena Jankovic also won Sunday. I forget there are other good players in this tournament too and both of those women have a strong chance of going all the way!
Then there is that tennis-player wonder named Roger Federer. He can do anything, he's better than anybody. But there is one big, FAT, glaring hole on his tennis resume: no French Open title. But I'm on record as saying that this will change this year and that he will finally win on the red dirt in Paris.
Federer was below his best Sunday but it was enough to beat Mikhail Youzhny of Russia in the French Open fourth round 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 6-4. The victory matched John McEnroe's record streak of 11 consecutive straight-sets win in Grand Slams. Sheesh, Federer is breaking what are even the more obscure records! I can't keep track of them anymore. Just let me know when he ties Borg for five straight Wimbledons and surpasses the 14 slams won by Sampras.
