Highland business owner to be honored at chamber event

   Rich Blanco, owner of RMB Printing & Promotions, will be honored at the Highland Area Chamber of Commerce's community awards and installation dinner as the Business of the Year on Thursday, Jan. 15, at the Castaway Restaurant, 670 Kendall Drive, San Bernardino.

   The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a social hour and no-host bar followed by the dinner, program and silent auction. Blanco moved his business from Orange County to Highland in 2003, bringing with him his 30 years of experience in the print industry, according to the news release.

   Others who will be honored at the awards ceremony are: Marva Washington, Citizen of the Year; Ernest Wong, City Staffer of the Year; Nathan Gastineau, Police Officer of the Year; and John Toon, Firefighter of the Year.

   Additional honor recipients include Inland Empire 66ers, Kim Palacios, Suzanne Browning, Cathy DeHart, Bonnie Mitchell and Shirley Starn.
