Ontario Latin music, DVD store closes; Fontana site still open
Ritmo Latino, a store that sold books, movies and music, closed its Ontario store on Monday and will be replaced by T-Mobile next month. Mareya Chavarria, district manager, said "the economy and the music industry" were factors in the store's closure. Music consumers are making their purchases online now, she said. With the decrease in sales, the store's owners were unable to keep up with the bills. Ritmo Latino's Ontario location opened 13 years ago at 101 N. Euclid Ave. and sold "all types of music," from Latin, salsa to jazz, Chavarria said. The store's Fontana location, at 9810 Sierra Ave., opened three years ago and remains open for business.
