Local AAF chapter meeting topic will be survival as a freelancer

   The local chapter of the American Advertising Federation will hold a luncheon workshop on the topic of "How to Survive As A Freelancer" on Thursday at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Riverside.  According to a news release, the workshop is for freelancers who work in marketing, advertising, photography, Web design, graphic design and public relations.

   Three panelists will lead the discussion: Hank Blank, principal of Hank Blank Inc., will lead the discussion on business development; Peter Quill, chief strategy officer of Motor Creative Marketing will discuss how freelancers should work and coordinate with agencies; and Theresa Mesa, president of Mesa Design House, will discuss taxes and record keeping for freelancers.

   Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and will end at 1:30 p.m.  Cost: If pre-registered, $5 for AAF and student members and $10 for nonmembers; registration at the door is an additional $5.  Information: (909) 921-1062, or online at www.aaf-inlandempire.com
