Riverside agency working toward 'smart grid' utilization

Riverside Public Utilities is campaigning to be one of the first medium-sized utilities in the country to be entirely on the "smart grid," according to a recent news release.  The utility is asking for $9 million of federal stimulus dollars to partially fund the $18 million endeavor.  The decision will be announced by the Department of Energy in October.
