Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton recently was awarded a Palliative Care Implementation Grant for $245,334 from the California HealthCare Foundation, to implement ARMC's Palliative Care Service program.  According to a news release, ARMC was awarded about $30,000 in seed money this year, which enabled the hospital to design the program.  ARMC will use the grant to implement an inpatient Palliative Care Consultation Service over two years for patients with chronic and life-limiting illness, including those near the end of life. The period of the grant is from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2011.  ARMC's PCS program expects to see about 144 patients in the first year, and about 288 patients in the second year.  Information: www.arrowheadmedcenter.org
