The Internal Revenue Service in partnership with the American Association of Retired Persons is looking for volunteers to assist in preparing tax returns next year at various sites throughout Southern California.  Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.  According to a news release, all volunteers receive "comprehensive AARP Tax-Aide training in cooperation with the IRS." Individuals with good computer skills are especially needed to assist in transmitting returns electronically.  Training generally begins in early January, according to the release.  Volunteers can help in five capacities: return preparer, computer/IT specialist, greeter, media specialist or fundraiser.  Information: (888) 687-2277; www.aarp.org/taxaide
