BRE Properties, Inc., a real estate investment trust, announced its sale of Windrush Village, a 366-unit apartment complex in Colton.
The investment trust also reported the sale of Galleria at Towngage, a 268-unit complex in Moreno Valley. The San Francisco-based BRE Properties reported the sales are part of a strategic move to divest from the eastern Inland Empire and focus on coastal markets.
BRE did not disclose the properties' new owners in its announcement. The Colton and Moreno Valley complexes sold for a gross sales price of $65.2 million.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority and Omnitrans will receive a combined $2.2 million to improve communications services.
The Los Angeles County agency is set to receive $2 million to improve its 511 line, which travelers use to obtain traffic and travel conditions information.
Omnitrans, which operates bus lines in the San Bernardino and inland valleys, received about $227,000 to improve its 211 line, which callers use for social service referrals and to obtain other information.

The pending arrival of Last Call by Neiman Marcus will require an innovation of Ontario Mills' north-facing exterior, and mall managers also plan to renovate the existing Nordstrom Rack store.
Previous changes at Ontario Mills include the expansion of its Aeropostale, Burlington Coat Factory and Forever 21 stores, as well as upgraded restrooms and a new guest services center.

As of the scheduled record date, close of business Nov. 18, shareholders who choose to participate will be able to purchase three shares of common stock for each 10 shares already owned. Share prices have yet to be announced, "but will approximate the fair market value of the shares at the commencement of the offering as determined by the board of directors," the company announced.
Shareholders who exercise their subscription rights will also receive bonus shares equal to 5 percent of shares purchased through the rights offering. Shareholders may also be able to purchase additional shares, with bonus shares attached, subject to availability.

American States Water Co., headquartered in San Dimas, on Monday announced a $15.6 million profit for the quarter that ended Sept. 30.
The company's profit figure compares with the nearly $6.7 million earned during the same three month period last year.
Through the first nine months of this year, American States reported $39.1 million in profit, compared with $24.1 million last year.
American States Water Co. is the parent company of Golden State Water Co., which delivers water to customers in places including Claremont, Pomona, Apple Valley and Barstow.

Builder Lennar plans to hold a grand opening today fort its "Next Gen" home design at Rosena Ranch, a development north of Fontana near Glen Helen Regional Park.
Lennar describes a Next Gen house as a "home within a home." The houses, designed for two generations of a family to live in the same house, feature two entryways and kitchenettes and washing machines each house's secondary area.

Lewis Land Developers, part of the Upland-based Lewis Group of Cos. and Riverside-based builder Van Daele Homes on Thursday announced their purchase of a 10-acre site in Rancho Cucamonga.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
The companies plan to build and sell 33 single-family homes at the site, which is north of Base Line Road between between Etiwanda and East Avenues.
The planned homes' sizes will range from 2,700 to 3,500 square feet with asking prices in the mid-$400,000s to low $500,000s, Lewis group reported.
The companies expect the first of the 33 homes to be available for sale in mid 2012.

The amount signifies an increase of about $200,000 from the year's previous quarter and a significant improvement from the Riverside-based credit union's condition of one year prior.
After the third quarter of 2010, Altura Credit Union reported a $1.5 million loss.
Improved financial conditions have also made it possible for Altura to reduce its loan loss provisions.
"The local unemployment rate has begun to drop. Home foreclosures are down, although we are seeing more 'short sales'," Altura CEO Mark Hawkins said in a statement. "People are adjusting to the new economic reality and are focusing on paying down debt. As a result, consumer loan activity remains sluggish. This is an ongoing challenge for all financial institutions, and we are no exception," he added. "Yet, there is a lot to be positive about right now."
Altura's reported capital ratio is 6.89 percent, which the government considers to be adequately capitalized.
