The Claremont Chamber of Commerce's next young professionals networking event is scheduled for Feb. 16.

Attendees must be no older than 40 years of age and an active member of the Claremont Chamber of Commerce.

The networking event is scheduled to take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Pizza 'n' Such, 202 Yale Ave., Claremont.

The Banta Center for Business Ethics and Society plans to host lecturer Chris MacDonald for a discussion on the ethics of digital media.

MacDonald is a Duke University fellow and lecturer ar Saint Mary's University in Halifax. His scheduled talk is titled "Responsibilities in the Blogosphere."

The event is scheduled to begin with a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Casa Loma Room at University of Redlands.

Admission will cost $10 for university students and employees or $15 for the public.

Weklar Consulting Group president Diane Weklar is scheduled to lead workshop focused on accelerating business growth.

The Inland Empire chapter of National Association of Women in Construction has a new location for its February meeting.

The meeting's featured speaker Christopher M. Myers of C.W. Driver Builders, is scheduled to discuss the U.S. Small Business Administration's mentorship program. The mentorship program allows minority-owned small businesses and other firms meeting certain criteria to partner with larger companies when bidding for federal contracts.

The meeting is now scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Hilton Garden Inn, 11481 Mission Vista Drive, Rancho Cucamonga.

Admission will cost $25.

The Inland Valley chapter of National Association of Women in Construction plan to welcome project manager Christopher M. Myers as the featured speaker at the group's February meeting.
Myers is a project manager for C.W. Driver Builders, which is based in Ontario.

The U.S. Small Business Association's Mentor-Protégé Program is scheduled as the meeting's featured topic. The program is designed to help small companies bid for federal contracts by allowing those companies to partner with larger firms.

The Mentor-Protégé Program is open to minority business owners and others who meet the government's criteria for being a "socially and economically disadvantaged individual".

Admission will cost $25. RSVPs are requested by Feb. 7.

Frank Abagnale, the former con artist whose life was depicted in the Steven Spielberg film "Catch Me If You Can" is scheduled to provide advice on how to identify and prevent fraud.

Abagnale will discuss identity theft, computer fraud, embezzlement and related topics during a speech scheduled to take place Tuesday. U.S. Bank is hosting Abegnale's visit.

The seminar is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Doubletree by Hilton Ontario Airport, 222 N. Vineyard Ave., Ontario. There is no admission fee but registration is required.

State Sen. Bob Dutton, R-Rancho Cucamonga, is scheduled to speak at the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce's legislative breakfast.

Dutton is scheduled to address political issues affecting business and his views on how redistricting may affect the Legislature. Dutton, facing term limits in the State Senate, is running for an Assembly seat against Mike Morrell, a Republican who represents the Rancho Cucamonga area in the state's lower house.

The San Bernardino chamber's breakfast is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 13 at Shandin Hills Golf Club, 3380 Little Mountain Drive, San Bernardino. Admission will cost $25.

The California Society of Tax Consultants, Inland Empire Chapter plan to welcome Amy Smith of the Internal Revenue Service as the featured speaker for the group's next meeting.

Smith is scheduled to provide an update of federal tax issues.

Pomona Chamber of Commerce executive director Frank Garcia said he will get in the ring with Pomona native and champion boxer Sugar Shane Mosley.

Garcia, said however, that the event won't follow traditional boxing rules.

"The only way they're going to let me get in the ring is, we have to wear these huge gloves," Garcia said, referring to
