BrightSource Energy, Inc., the Oakland company developing a solar generating plant in the Mojave Desert, announced the appointment of Richard "Dick" Kelly as the firm's new chairman of the board.
Kelly is the former chairman and CEO of Xcel Energy, which is an electric utility operating in the Midwest, Great Plains and Rocky Mountain regions.
BrightSource's new chairman also holds an MBA from Regis University, which is in Denver.
