The Building Industry Association’s Baldy View Chapter and Jobing.com have partnered with “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to give local youth on-the-job experience, according to a news release. Through Jobing.com’s Job Shadow program, students in the local Jobcorps and Mojave Basin Youth Corps have been offered the opportunity to learn construction skills during the building of a house in the Inland Empire for the television program.
A coalition of regional builders and suppliers has stepped forward to donate their time and materials to make this project a reality. They include Murphy Construction Co. in Hesperia, SC Homes Inc. in Newport Beach, Steeno Design Studio in Hesperia and David L. Manwarren Corp. in Rancho Cucamonga.
