Brandguard Vents, owned by San Bernardino firefighter Brent Berkompas, and MonierLifetile, a manufacturer of concrete tile roof systems, have announced they have signed a three-year supply agreement. Brandguard Vents will be available in all U.S. markets beginning with Southern California and the Southwest immediately, Northern California on Feb. 5; and the remaining U.S. markets on Feb. 15, officials said.
The Building Industry Association’s Baldy View Chapter and Jobing.com have partnered with “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to give local youth on-the-job experience, according to a news release. Through Jobing.com’s Job Shadow program, students in the local Jobcorps and Mojave Basin Youth Corps have been offered the opportunity to learn construction skills during the building of a house in the Inland Empire for the television program.

Proactive Packaging & Display Inc. of Ontario and Stockton and Maxco Supply Inc. of Parlier have signed a multi-year strategic alliance agreement, according to a news release. The partnership aims “to better serve the agricultural industry’s packaging needs, with the ultimate goal of producing premium packaging with as little impact on the environment as possible.” Proactive’s part of the alliance is “to supplement customer options in the actual printing of the packaging boxes, with Proactive having broadened its use of litho printing and heightened the use of flexo printing for ag packaging products,” according to the release.
Cal State San Bernardino’s College of Business and Public Administration’s Business Alliance will kick off its 2009 Executive Briefings breakfast lecture series today with speaker Eddy Sumar, president and founder of ER Consulting in Rancho Cucamonga. Families with household incomes of less than $45,000 are invited to take advantage of free tax preparation services being provided by the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County. Fourteen Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites will offer weekend and evening hours and have bilingual volunteers to assist taxpayers. Free tax preparation begins at these sites Saturday.
