Riverside Public Utilities is campaigning to be one of the first medium-sized utilities in the country to be entirely on the “smart grid,” according to a recent news release. The utility is asking for $9 million of federal stimulus dollars to partially fund the $18 million endeavor. The decision will be announced by the Department of Energy in October.
Bryan Weiner has purchased two condo units, totalling 3,144 square feet, at 25875 Barton Road, Loma Linda, according to costar.com. Weiner paied $1.15 million to Meridian Property Co. for the property. Built in 2008, the office building totals 13,220 square feet and is part of the new Loma Linda Professional Center at the northeast corner of Mountain View Avenue and Barton Road. The Inland Empire chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, a commercial real estate development association, is seeking submissions to showcase industrial, office, retail and mixed use properties throughout the Inland Empire in its “Virtual Bus Tour” scheduled for Nov. 11. The Victor Valley Family Resource Center, which will provide area residents with literacy, computer skills, life-skill services and work-readiness training, will hold it’s grand opening from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 14 at 16857 C St., Victorville. Kurt Strasmann was brought on as managing director for Voit Real Estate Services’ Anaheim office, according to a news release. He will take the lead with the planned expansion into Inland Empire with a new office in that area. Michael Feldman is the new deputy executive director of facilities management at Los Angeles World Airports, which operates L.A./Ontario International, Los Angeles International and Van Nuys airports. In this position, Feldman is responsible for the activities of the Facilities Planning, Facilities Engineering, Environmental Services, Inspection Services and Construction and Maintenance divisions, according to a news release.
