Credit Union League approves fee for public advocacy program

The California Credit Union League, based in Ontario, has approved an assessment on member credit unions for continuing a public advocacy program.  According to an article in the Credit Union Journal, the assessment was slashed by 83 percent from 2007 in response to worsening economic conditions.  The proposed assessment for 2010 was reduced again.  “Spending on the 2010 version of the public advocacy campaign has been reduced to $1 million from $6 million and from paid media to earned media,” according to the report.
