Baca to hold ‘jobs summit’ Feb. 1 to discuss local ideas for job growth

Rep. Joe Baca, D-San Bernardino, will be hosting a jobs summit Feb. 1 in Fontana “to exchange ideas on job creation in the Inland Empire and take the local ideas and input to Washington to contribute to the national dialogue,” according to a recent news release.  The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Center Stage Theater, 8473 Sierra Ave.  Baca will be joined by University of Redlands President Stuart Dorsey, who is an economist, as well as economic development professionals and employment experts.

Colliers International joins forces with FirstService

Colliers International- Greater Los Angeles, which operates a location in Ontario, has announced that it will become part of the “new” Colliers International as the company combines operations with FirstService Real Estate Advisors.  Martin Pupil will continue to lead the company’s seven Greater Los Angeles offices.

Fontana offers three chances to hear ‘State of the City’ address

Fontana’s 2010 State of the City address will take place Thursday at the Jessie Turner Community Center.  The annual event, sponsored by the city’s Chamber of Commerce, will take place in three sessions: a breakfast session at 8 a.m., a lunch session at 11:30 a.m., and an evening session at 7 p.m.  The theme at this year’s speech by Mayor Mark Nuami is “Reviving Economic Opportunity.”  Cost: $35 for breakfast and lunch sessions.  Evening session is free. Pomona technology company hires new sales executive

AgentLegal in Pomona recently announced that John A. Martucci is joining the company as vice president of sales. CSUSB launches course for newly promoted supervisors

Cal State San Bernardino’s College of Extended Learning will offer a two-day, five-class series in the Supervisory Skills Development Certificate program on Feb. 6 and 20.  Topics in the certificate program include Your Role as Supervisor, Leading with Confidence, Building Effective Teams, Decision Making and Problem Solving, and Time and Project Management. The class instructor is Daniel Logue, president of Logue & Associates, a business and human resources consulting firm.  The cost for all five classes is $269 per person or $255 per person for three or more students from the same organization. San Bernardino chamber to mark 102 years with awards dinner

The San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 102nd anniversary at the annual installation and awards dinner Wednesday at the San Bernardino Hilton, 285 E. Hospitality Lane.  The keynote speaker will be Bruce Branstine, an executive at CitizensTrust, who has more than 22 years of banking industry experience. Chino buildings change hands for $5.85 million

Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors recently announced that at Edward B. Hanley and William B. Asher, along with Phil Berry of Commercial West, represented the seller, Euclid Plaza LLC, in the sale of two buildings in Chino for $5.85 million.  The first building, at 6961 Schaefer Ave., is leased to Pacific Dental. The buyer was a private investor represented by Scott Hook at Marcus & Millichap.  The second building, at 7033 Schaefer Ave., is leased to Chase Bank and Juice It Up. Advertising mistakes to be topic of speaker at February luncheon

The American Advertising Federation/Palm Springs, Desert Cities will feature guest speaker James B. WesternU to host Pomona’s ‘State of the City’ event
