Highland optometrist Jan L. Cooper recently was re-elected as a trustee of the California Optometric Association’s board of trustees. The group’s annual meeting was held in Ontario at the end of January. “It is an honor and a privilege to represent my profession, and I find it fulfilling to work with such an excellent group of colleagues and staff in support of the California Optometric Association,” Cooper said in a news release. “To serve my profession in this capacity is one of the greatest highlights of my professional career, and I see my service as another opportunity to support my profession, reach out to the community, build collaborative relationships, and assist in bridging gaps in health care delivery in service to the public.” Cooper also will serve as chairwoman of the American Optometric Association’s Community Health Center Committee, beginning in March, and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry in Pomona. Cooper currently practices at the practice of James Espinosa in Highland.
