Electricians, masons, operating engineers, nurses, members of other trades as well as the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department are scheduled to participate in the 10th annual Union Apprenticeship and Training Forum.
The event is will be open to students and others interested viewing job demonstrations and learning more about possible career opportunities in various trades. The Central Labor Council AFL/CIO of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties will sponsor the event in coordination with the San Bernardino Superintendent of Schools.
The forum is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to noon March 9 at Damus Room, National Orange Show Events Center, 689 S. E St., San Bernardino.

Dollar General, a Tennessee based discounter, plans to hold a job fair Thursday and Friday in Ontario to hire some 300 employees as the company expands into Southern and Central California.
The job fair is scheduled to take place from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday at Best Western Plus Ontario Airport, 209 N. Vineyard Ave., Ontario. Dollar General is also scheduled to accept applications from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the same location.
Dollar General reported a $171 million profit for the quarter ending Oct. 28.
Finesse Staffing announced that the compmany is taking applications for 400 skilled and general labor positions at Ingram Micro’s distribution center in Ontario.
Ingram Micro is technology distributor based in Santa Ana. The company needs cherry picker, reach and forklift drivers, machinists and general warehouse workers. Positions pay between $9 and $17 per hour.
Finesse Staffing is accepting applications at its office at 10600 Trademark Parkway, Suite 407 in Rancho Cucamonga. The office is open to job seekers from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applicants will need two forms of valid identification.
A job fair for clamp and slipsheet forklift drivers as well as order pullers and order pickers will be held to fill 180 jobs in Ontario, county officials announced.
Applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Positions are available for three shifts at wages of $8.50 to $10.50 per hour, the San Bernardino County Workforce Development Department announced.
The job fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at Employment Resource Center, 9650 Ninth St., Rancho Cucamonga.
Fort Irwin, home of the military’s National Training Center, will host a job fair for veterans and the public on Sept. 8, the Army announced.
The Army post holds a job fair two times a year for soldiers transitioning to civilian live, veterans and other job seekers.
The job fair is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 8 at San Basin Community Center, Fort Irwin. Visitors must have government-issued ID to enter Fort Irwin, and must show vehicle registration and proof of insurance if driving a vehicle to the Army post.
Fort Irwin is about 37 miles northeast of Barstow and reached by exiting the 15 Freeway at Fort Irwin Road.
